KWL reading strategy is a cognitive strategy proposed by American scholar Ogle Donna to guide reading teaching.It holds that students’ reading process is a process with individualized reading differences.The KWL reading strategy is combined with the whole book reading teaching in high school to provide a new teaching perspective for the whole book reading.KWL reading strategy from the perspective of the whole book reading teaching,focus on stimulating students’ learning enthusiasm,thinking development,for students to establish a concise and clear way of thinking and learning.From the perspective of KWL reading strategy,this study takes the reading teaching of the whole book of From the Soil : The Foundations of Chinese Society as the research object,considers the stylistic features of From the Soil : The Foundations of Chinese Society,combines the methods and technologies of annotated reading and thinking visualization,and puts forward the reading teaching strategy of the whole book of From the Soil : The Foundations of Chinese Society,so as to improve the teaching efficiency of the whole book of From the Soil : The Foundations of Chinese Society.Students should enhance their interest in reading academic works,complete the learning objectives of the whole book reading task group,and improve the quality of reading thinking.This paper is divided into four parts.The first introduction explains the origin of the research.On the basis of defining and explaining related concepts and theoretical basis,it summarizes the research status,significance and methods.The second part analyzes the feasibility of applying KWL reading strategy to the whole book reading teaching of From the Soil : The Foundations of Chinese Society.The present situation of reading teaching in the whole book of From the Soil : The Foundations of Chinese Society is investigated,and the key problems are analyzed and summarized.Secondly,it discusses the value of KWL reading strategy to the reading teaching of the whole book of From the Soil : The Foundations of Chinese Society.The third part is based on the practical teaching problems existing in From the Soil : The Foundations of Chinese Society,combined with KWL reading strategy to propose corresponding teaching strategies.Firstly,through the "K" link,students’ known experience is activated.Secondly,through the task design of the "W" link,combined with the auxiliary reading tools such as annotated reading method and learning task list,students can grasp the key words in the reading of academic works and the ideas of textual demonstration,and use what they have learned to think about the current social phenomena.Finally,create personalized activities or tasks to demonstrate the learned experience through the "L" link.The fourth part carries out the reading teaching practice of From the Soil : The Foundations of Chinese Society from the perspective of KWL reading strategy,and then reflects on it and proposes corresponding improvement strategies for teaching problems.Through theoretical analysis and teaching practice,it is concluded that KWL reading strategy is suitable for reading teaching of the whole book of From the Soil : The Foundations of Chinese Society: it reduces students’ strangeness to the text and exercises students’ thinking ability in reading.Teachers improve the effectiveness of teaching in the teaching process.It is expected that this study can provide useful experience for the reading teaching of the whole book of From the Soil : The Foundations of Chinese Society.
