With the rapid development of the Internet like every day,the number of Internet users in China is growing year by year, and more than 1 billion Internet users constitute the largest digital society in the world. The popularity of online media, social networking platforms and other channels allows people to easily access and share information, and follow and comment on events of their interest on various online platforms, and these information and behaviors tend to spread on the Internet, thus forming a complex online public opinion.Compared with traditional media, the Internet medium has higher convenience and interactivity, which provides a platform for the formation and spread of online public opinion. The speed, scope and social influence of online public opinion are not comparable to those of ordinary offline public opinion, which makes it more complicated to handle and respond to online public opinion caused by social hot issues.Especially in recent years, there have been public health emergencies around the world, and people are more inclined to use the Internet to obtain information due to travel restrictions. With the emergence of the "world’s unprecedented changes",the global political environment has become increasingly complex, and the game of major powers has extended to the public opinion field. The most typical issues are "super national treatment",foreign-related enterprises and national border issues, which often become hotspots on the Internet as soon as they occur and become the material for foreign-related online public opinion formation.Foreign-related online public opinion is often more sensitive and may lead to major problems affecting social harmony and stability and ideological security, which is far more complicated than ordinary public opinion and requires more reasonable and effective ways and means to deal with it.This paper compares the views and opinions on online public opinion response and foreign-related events at home and abroad, and summarizes the current status of the infrastructure of online public opinion response to foreign-related events in Chinese government agencies.By analyzing the cases of online opinion response to foreign-related events, the shortcomings in the response methods in the cases are summarized and extended to the overall response status quo.In view of the characteristics of online public opinion on foreign-related incidents,we summarize the existing problems in response, such as poor timeliness of response, low comprehensive quality of response personnel, lack of effective guidance for online platforms and media, and lack of specific legal support, and analyze the causes of the problems, concluding that the response mechanism fails to adapt to the speed of public opinion dissemination, the response concept is not scientific and reasonable enough, the coordination mechanism between the government and platforms and media is not sufficient, and the legal system is not fully implemented. The causes of the problems include the failure of the response mechanism to adapt to the speed of public opinion dissemination, the lack of scientific and reasonable response concepts, the lack of perfect coordination mechanisms between the government and platforms and media, and the fact that the legal system is not fully integrated into the public opinion management process.Based on the analysis of the problems and causes, the optimized strategies for responding to online public opinion on foreign-related events are proposed in several aspects, including improving the timeliness of response, changing the response concept, establishing a sound cooperative response mechanism between the government and non-government sectors, and strengthening the construction of the legal system related to public opinion. |
