Athletes’ input is a continuous positive emotional cognitive state, which can affect the sensitivity and attitude behavior of athletes towards the same physical activity.High level of athletes ’investment can not only improve athletes’ competitive ability, but also prevent psychological fatigue caused by athletes’ long-term training and competition. However, both individual internal and external factors can affect the degree of athletes ’investment in training and competition. Therefore, this study discusses the influence mechanism of basketball players’ investment based on the two branch theory(cognitive evaluation theory and the theory of basic psychological needs). In this study,384 questionnaires were conducted using the autonomic support scale, basic psychological need scale and athlete input scale on CUBA college basketball players.Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and reliability tests were performed using SPSS 26.0;Confirmatory factor analysis was performed using AMOS 24.0,And to construct the structural equation model,Basic coaches independent support, the relationship between the results show that:(1)there is a highly significant positive correlation between independent support, basic psychological needs and the input(confidence, dedication, vitality and enthusiasm)(p <0.001),and the correlation coefficient r is between 310 and604.(2)The direct effect of coach independent support on athlete input is 0.302,and its confidence interval is [0.055,0.512],excluding 0,indicating that the direct effect exists. The indirect effect of coach independent support on athlete input was 0.352,and the confidence interval was [0.190,0.585],excluding 0,indicating that the indirect effect existed. Therefore, the direct effect of coach independent support on athlete input is significant. In addition, coach autonomy support can have a significant indirect impact on athlete input through psychological needs. Therefore,we can see that the psychological needs have a partial intermediary role between the independent support of the coaches and the athletes’ input. The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The independent support of coaches has a positive predictive effect on college basketball and athletes’ investment. The higher the level of independent support perceived by college basketball players, the higher the level of investment.(2)The degree of satisfaction of the basic psychological needs of college basketball players is closely related to the level of investment. The independent support of coaches is one of the important factors to predict the basic psychological needs of college basketball players, because the higher the independent support level of coaches, the higher the coach support perceived by athletes, thus promoting the satisfaction of the basic psychological needs of athletes.(3)The investment level of college basketball players is closely related to the degree of satisfying their basic psychological needs.Research shows that when the basic psychological needs of college basketball players are fully met, their investment level will increase accordingly. Therefore, coaches should pay attention to meeting the basic psychological needs of athletes to improve their input level.(4)Athletes ’basic psychological needs Meet There is an intermediary role between the coaches’ independent support and the input of college basketball players. The higher the satisfaction degree of the athletes ’basic psychological needs of athletes, the better the positive predictive effect of the coaches’ independent support on the athletes’ input.According to the results of this study,it is suggested to further improve the investment level of basketball players from the correct understanding and improving the coaching behavior, meeting the independent needs, ability needs and relationship needs of basketball players.
