Study On The Technical And Tactical Characteristics And Competition Strategy Of US Open Men’s Singles Champion Alcaraz

Research background: At the age of 19 years and 4 months,Carlos Alcaraz(hereinafter referred to as "Alcaraz")has become the first 00-year-old Grand Slam men’s singles champion at the 2022 U.S.Open(hereinafter referred to as "US Open").Carlos Alcaraz became the first post-00 Grand Slam men’s singles champion,the youngest world No.1 in ATP history,and broke the monopoly of Federer,Nadal,Djokovic and Murray on the year-end No.1 since 2004 with the title.The Chinese youngsters of the same period in the world ranking of men’s tennis have signs of climbing,but there is still a clear gap with the world’s best men’s tennis players.Under such a situation,it is very meaningful to conduct an in-depth study on the technical and tactical characteristics and competition strategies of the "rising stars" in the tennis world.Research purpose: Through analyzing the characteristics and effects of the technical and tactical use of Alcaraz in winning the US Open,this paper summarizes the technical and tactical characteristics and competition strategies of Alcaraz in the US Open,which brings some reference and inspiration to our male tennis players in terms of technical and tactical play and competition strategies,and provides some reference basis in training.Research method: This paper used literature,video analysis,mathematical statistics and logical analysis to statistically analyze the technical indexes such as the technical categories,hitting lines,hitting points and points scored and lost by Alcaraz in the serving,receiving and holding phases of the seven Grand Slam matches at the 2022 US Open.The study results in this paper are as follows:1.Alcaraz second serve average speed is faster than the opponent;inside and outside corner serve drop score and use frequency are higher than the middle,the above differences are significant.2.Serve and grab racket forehand technique > backhand technique > other techniques,the score of forehand technique is greater than that of backhand technique and other techniques;the frequency of using the line of backhand position is greater than that of forehand position and chasing position,the score of forehand and backhand position is greater than that of chasing position;the landing point of hitting the ball is back court >middle court > front court,the score of back court is greater than that of front court and middle court,the above differences are significant.3.Receiving and serving forehand technique > backhand technique > other techniques,the score of forehand technique is greater than other techniques;hitting line chasing position > backhand position > forehand position;hitting landing point back court >middle court > front court,the score of back court is greater than front court,all the above differences are significant.4.There was no difference in the frequency of use of catch-and-snap technique categories,and the score of forehand technique was greater than that of other techniques;the frequency of use and score of backhand line were greater than that of forehand and chasing position;the hitting landing point of back court > middle court > front court,and the score of back court was greater than that of middle court and front court,and the above differences were significant.5.There was no difference in the frequency of technical categories used in the holding phase,and the scores of forehand and other techniques were greater than those of backhand;the frequency and scores of forehand and backhand positions were greater than those of the chasing position;the order of frequency and scores of ball landing was: back court >middle court > front court,and the above differences were significant.The research conclusions of this paper are summarized as follows:1.In the serving stage,Alcaraz serves with great power,the landing point will not be affected by the score difference,serving order and serving area,the landing point is mainly concentrated in the inner and outer corners,and the scoring effect is the best;the serving snatch shot is mainly based on forehand pumping technique,the ball landing point is deep and mainly attacks the opponent’s backhand position,the scoring effect is much higher than the lost points.2.In the receiving and serving stage,Alcaraz mainly used forehand and backhand techniques,and the stroke line showed the characteristics of mainly chasing the body position and supplemented by the backhand position;the receiving and snapping technique was comprehensive,and the line was mainly in the backhand position,and the forehand position and chasing the body position were also important;both the receiving and snapping return points were mainly in the middle and back court,and the overall points scored and lost were balanced.3.In the holding phase,Alcaraz’s technique was comprehensive;the stroke lines were mainly in the forehand and backhand positions;the shots landed mainly in the middle and back court areas,and the overall scoring effect was greater than the points lost.4.Comprehensive analysis of the technical and tactical characteristics of Alcaraz US net,and proposed three competition strategies of Alcaraz serving and grabbing consecutive shots,receiving and grabbing consecutive shots,and holding multiple shots.
