With the reform and development of the rural economy, the position of female labor force in the rural economy is becoming increasingly important.Because rural women can bring unique advantages, such as promoting technological innovation, promoting inclusive economic growth, and reducing poverty. However, rural women still suffer from deprivation of their rights, and their contributions to economic development are often overlooked. Therefore,in order to develop the rural economy and achieve common prosperity,it is very necessary to strengthen the feminist view of rural female labor force and let them have more control and development opportunities.Based on the comprehensive social survey data(CGSS)from 2017 to 2018,this article constructs an instrumental variable using the fact that the 1999 college enrollment expansion policy has different impacts on the education years of rural labor in China. The instrumental variable method is used to estimate the impact of education on the feminist views of rural labor.Research has found that an increase in education level significantly increases the feminist perspective of rural labor.According to the calculation results of the 2SLS model, under other conditions being the same,an increase in education years for rural women leads to an increase in the feminist index of 0.102.For rural men,an increase in education years leads to an increase in the feminist index of 0.268,which is significant at the 5% and 10%significance levels, respectively. In contrast, education has a greater impact on the feminist views of rural male labor force, indicating that the improvement of rural male education level can also change their attitudes towards women’s rights. The factor analysis results indicate that for rural female labor force, the impact is mainly reflected in women’s views on whether they should have independent careers.Secondly, using conditional process analysis and other mesomeric effect models, this paper finds that the concept of women’s rights is the intermediary variable that forms the income effect of rural women’s labor force education. The number of years of rural women’s labor force’s education significantly increases the income by 1.82% by increasing the feminist index. Finally, this article conducted a heterogeneity analysis from the perspectives of region and income level, and found that with the improvement of regional economic level, the education level of rural female labor force has a greater impact on their feminist views. However, there is no significant difference in this impact at different income levels.Based on empirical research results, this article proposes the following policy recommendations: firstly, the government can take a series of measures to eliminate gender discrimination in education, including establishing laws and regulations to prohibit gender discrimination;Implement multiple plans to increase respect and equal opportunities for women;Secondly, the government should provide them with a favorable environment so that they can receive necessary educational support and resources, and provide comprehensive assistance and support measures during the school period;Third, the government can introduce more public welfare support, such as education and Medicaid in rural areas,to ensure that poor families, especially women, can access good education and medical services; The government can also increase employment assistance for rural women to improve employment and economic conditions in rural areas, and promote women’s participation in the labor market;Fourthly, the government can take some public opinion measures to promote and affirm the positive role of women in the family and career. For example, the government can carry out various promotional activities to guide women to stand in a positive position, actively strive, and play their positive role. |
