| High school is a critical period of psychological development in a person’s life, and it is also the period when psychological problems and disturbances are most likely to arise, which shows in existing studies. However, research on the mental health of county high school students is extremely limited. In order to understand the current situation of high school students’ mental health in the county, identifying problems and formulating corresponding educational countermeasures,I carry out this survey to promote the harmonious physical and mental development of high school students in the county. This study adopt the questionnaire survey method, taking D middle school in S province as an example,800 high school students are selected as a sample, and the Mental Health Scale for Chinese Middle School Students(MSSMHS)compiled by Professor Wang Jisheng is used.I also use SPSS25.0 to process the questionnaire data. Here are the following conclusions.First, high school students in the county had mild mental health problems overall, and the mean values of the dimensions of mental health status, from largest to smallest, are academic stress, anxiety, emotional imbalance,obsessive-compulsive symptoms, interpersonal tension and sensitivity, depression, maladjustment, paranoia, hostility, and psychological imbalance.Among them, academic stress and anxiety have the deepest impact.Second, there are significant differences in the mental health status of county high school students by gender(p<0.05),with boys being less depressed than girls and girls being less maladjusted and mentally unbalanced than boys.Third,on the dimension of being an only child, there is a significant difference between county high school students(p<0.05).students who are the only child in family are more likely to show psychological imbalance compared to non-only children.Forth,in terms of different parental literacy, there is no significant effect of the father’s literacy on the mental health status of the county high school students(p>0.05),while there is a significant effect of the mother’s literacy on the two dimensions of obsessive-compulsive symptoms and interpersonal tension and sensitivity of the county high school students(p<0.05).The higher the mother’s education level, the lesser the children’s symptoms of obsessive-compulsive symptoms and interpersonal tensions and sensitivities.Fifth, there is no significant difference(p>0.05)in the mental health status of county high school students between different places of origin. From the above,it can be concluded that the factors affecting the mental health status of county high school students are academic stress, anxiety, gender differences, differences in only child or not,and differences in mothers’ cultural literacy. To address the above factors affecting the mental health of high school students in the county, after analyzing the causes, this study proposes five corresponding educational countermeasures.First, using effective educational approaches to alleviate learning anxiety among high school students in the county.Second, make joint efforts to help high school students cope with academic stress.Third, focus on the education of gender differences.Forth, emphasis on mental health education for only children.Fifth, invest in improving parents’ education literacy. This thesis is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction, which describes the background, significance, definition of relevant concepts, current status of domestic and international research, and research design of the study. The second part is an objective description of the mental health outcomes of county high school students, mainly including reliability and validity tests, the overall psychological status of county high school students and the differences of mental health status in different demographic variables. The third section is an analysis of the outcomes, influencing factors and causes of mental health of high school students in the county. The fourth part is the educational countermeasures proposed for the factors affecting the mental health of county high school students. The fifth part is the conclusion, which summarizes and concludes the study and provides a brief description of the innovations, limitations and outlook of the study. |
