Currently,China’s tourism industry is in a new phase of sustained tourism recovery and high-quality development.Since the epidemic, there has been a serious loss of tourism talent. At a time when the epidemic is receding and tourism is recovering, the lack of professional tourism practitioners is hindering the rapid and high-quality development of the tourism industry, and it has become very important to actively promote the construction of innovative tourism talent teams. As an indispensable front-line force and new force in the tourism industry, secondary tourism management students have extraordinary significance to the recovery and development of tourism. However,a large number of secondary tourism management students have insufficient self-awareness,resulting in their inability to better meet the new needs of the tourism industry, adapt to new changes, and embrace a more open tourism market.Students’ self-cognitive ability is the basis for learning to learn, learning effectively, improving key competencies, and adapting to their future work.Improving student self-awareness and focusing on student subjects is the basis for promoting student development and for improving the quality of front-line personnel in the tourism industry. This thesis takes secondary tourism management students as the research object and takes self-perception theory and self-identity theory as the theoretical basis. The self-perception of secondary tourism management students is divided into four dimensions:self-perception,academic self-perception,career self-perception and interpersonal self-perception,and the current situation of students’ self-perception is investigated through questionnaire method. And on this basis,we compiled our own interview outline and conducted more in-depth interviews with relevant people to explore the current situation of middle school tourism management students’ self-cognition in a deeper way.The results of the study showed that the self-concept of secondary tourism management students was at an intermediate level, which was manifested by ambiguous self-concept,low learning self-efficacy,lack of career planning and poor interpersonal relationship management skills. In this regard, corresponding talent cultivation strategies are proposed at three levels:school, family and society.School-level strategies: guide cognitive direction, help students establish self-identity;experience the joy of success, improve students’ self-efficacy;increase career planning courses, strengthen students’ understanding of career planning;correct cognitive bias, guide students to establish correct interpersonal relationships.Strategies at the family level:Accept children and communicate with them;pay attention to them and accompany their growth.Social level strategies: change social prejudice, build a new social evaluation system;improve social recognition, create a good public opinion and employment policy. The above talent training suggestions are proposed to help secondary tourism management students improve their self-awareness,promote students’ development, and facilitate the recovery and high-quality development of tourism industry.
