Modern narrative prose occupies an important proportion in textbooks compiled by Chinese Department of junior high school.Narrative prose is a kind of prose that mainly writes people’s memories and expresses the author’s subjective feelings.Because of its characteristics of both quality and beauty,it plays a vital role in cultivating students’ aesthetic sentiment and improving students’ ability of using language.As a reading method,the close reading of text is of great significance to the teaching of modern narrative prose.This paper analyzes the current situation of modern narrative prose teaching in junior high school by means of investigation and interview.It is found that in the current teaching of modern narrative prose in junior middle school,some teachers have consciously or unconsciously used the text reading method to teach modern narrative prose,but there are still some problems.For example,the relevant theories are insufficient and it is difficult to extract the teaching content comprehensively.Close reading to establish the key point is not proper,difficult to accurately position the teaching focus;The use of close reading method is not good,unable to fully reveal the textual characteristics of narrative prose;The close reading support is not established in time,and it is difficult for students to fully link the author’s personal experience.In view of the above problems,the author combined with the characteristics of modern narrative prose in junior high school,carried out the corresponding teaching application strategies to explore: strengthen the learning of theoretical literacy,effectively construct the teaching content of narrative prose;Reasonably establish the focus of close reading and accurately position the focus of narrative prose teaching;Flexible choice of close reading methods,in-depth exploration of narrative prose textual characteristics;Make full use of the close reading frame to link the experience of students and authors in time.The teaching strategy reflects the development from theory to practice,from the whole to the part one by one.When teaching modern narrative prose,teachers must first construct the teaching content of the text targeted;Secondly,the emphasis of close reading should be determined according to the requirements of course standards and teaching materials.Then reasonable use of close reading method in teaching,and timely provide close reading support to help students solve problems,in-depth reveal the connotation of the text,dig the textual characteristics of the text,and finally obtain aesthetic edification.Based on this,the thesis takes the selection of modern narrative prose in junior high school as an example to carry out the teaching design.Combined with the characteristics of the selected articles,the teaching process is designed as preliminary close reading,selective close reading,overall close reading,and finally internalized feelings,and the implementation of students’ pragmatic practice four parts.The step-by-step development of the teaching process reflects the practical significance of applying the method of close reading to the teaching of modern narrative prose,and confirms the feasibility of applying the method of close reading to the teaching of modern narrative prose in junior high school.
