In order to help students develop reading habits,master reading methods,obtain a complete and profound reading experience,improve the core quality,and finally achieve the ultimate goal of loving reading,thinking and expression and becoming a spiritual adult,the whole book reading is included in the teaching plan.Reading the whole book has unique value for Chinese teaching in middle school,but it also faces many challenges because of the deep-rooted idea of single reading and the class time.Red Star Over China is the recommended reading material in the whole book reading task group of the new curriculum standard and the designated reading book in the reading guide of the eighth grade Chinese textbook.The whole book reading teaching of Red Star Over China can be regarded as an epitome of the current reading teaching of the whole book.Therefore,this thesis attempts to conduct research on the whole book reading teaching of Red Star Over China,expecting to provide some strategic reference for Chinese teachers and promote the implementation of the whole book reading teaching of Red Star Over China and even the whole book reading teaching of Chinese in middle school.This thesis is divided into five chapters.In order to clarify the rationale for implementing the whole book reading teaching of Red Star Over China,this thesis summarizes the whole book reading teaching and the whole book reading teaching of Red Star Over China.In the first chapter,based on the interpretation of the ideological connotation,unique value and challenges of the whole book reading,the author discusses the value and precautions of the whole book reading of Red Star Over China and the status of Red Star Over China in the whole book reading teaching.Red Star Over China is both realistic and literary,both documentary and revolutionary,which occupies a place in the new curriculum standard and textbooks.However,the whole book reading teaching of Red Star Over China needs to pay attention to the selection of teaching content,the formulation of teaching strategies and the selection of teaching forms.At present,the whole book reading teaching status of Red Star Over China is not good.In the second chapter,the author finds that there are many problems in the whole book reading teaching of Red Star Over China through investigation and analysis of students’ reading status and teachers’ teaching status,such as students’ rigid reading ideas and bad reading habits,teachers’ insufficient teaching preparation,inadequate guidance,and simple and general evaluation.To investigate the reason,the reality of exam-oriented education is the fundamental.The analysis of these problems provides guidance for developing more reasonable and effective teaching strategies for the whole book reading of Red Star Over China.Many scholars and first-line Chinese teachers have written wonderful whole book reading teaching practice cases of Red Star Over China for reference.The third chapter is a detailed analysis of some excellent teaching cases.These cases inspire teachers to use guided reading to arouse students’ interest in reading,set up thematic exploration activities to activate students’ deep reading,and precisely design reading tasks to induce students’ active involvement.Based on the teaching status and experience revelation of the whole book reading of Red Star Over China,in the fourth chapter,the author systematically puts forward the whole book reading teaching strategy of Red Star Over China from the perspective of reflective understanding and overall optimization.On the basis of changing the concept of exam-oriented education and understanding the importance of reading the whole book for students,teachers should first focus on the core value of the whole book reading teaching of Red Star Over China,refine the teaching objectives of mastering reading methods and inheriting revolutionary culture,and arrange the corresponding learning contents.Secondly,teachers should plan teaching links such as introduction,reading guidance,thematic exploration and expansion and sublimation to guide students to go deeper into Red Star Over China.Thirdly,teachers should help the smooth development of teaching links and lead students to extend and advance through various methods such as using Kieran Egan cognitive tools,interweaving non-fiction literature reading method guidance into dual nature,building systematic learning support and constructing intertextual reading strategies.Finally,teachers should pay attention to stage evaluation,adopt final evaluation,compile evaluation scale and reading reflection list around the main links of reading to investigate and evaluate the whole process,and assist students to timely reflect and improve the whole book reading of Red Star Over China.In order to test the effectiveness of teaching strategies,in the fifth chapter,the author carries out practice and reflection on the whole book reading teaching of Red Star Over China,in order to provide some reflective experience for front-line teachers.
