Group reading,short for group reading instruction,is a topic-centered process in which multiple intertextual texts are selected from inside and outside the classroom and students are guided to read and explore collectively in order to develop thinking skills.The teaching of ancient poetry is based on single-text explanations,which are less effective than group reading in developing reading skills and reading habits.For language reading instruction,there is a transition from single to group texts.Language teachers in more than 20 regions across the country are conducting research on group reading,and their practice has proven that introducing group reading into the language classroom is beneficial in expanding reading,increasing reading speed,and developing reading skills.Since the use of group reading in high school is relatively rare,mainly in elementary and middle school,this paper tries to apply group reading to the ancient poetry section in high school,aiming to enrich the way of teaching ancient poetry and explore the strategies of teaching group reading of ancient poetry in high school.This paper takes two high schools in Hubei as the scope of study,and uses questionnaire and interview methods to explore the existing problems and causes of group reading teaching of ancient poems in high schools,so as to propose targeted teaching strategies,hoping to provide constructive suggestions and references for group reading teaching of ancient poems in high schools.Introduction: To explain the origin and significance of the study,to give an overview of high school ancient poetry teaching,group reading,and the current situation of high school ancient poetry group reading teaching,and finally to explain the research design of this paper.Chapter 1: Theoretical discussion of group reading teaching of ancient poetry in high school.This chapter consists of three sections: firstly,the concept and basic elements of group reading teaching are clarified,and a comparative analysis is made with other reading teaching;secondly,the theoretical basis is elaborated and its inherent relationship with group reading teaching of ancient poems is analyzed;finally,the necessity of group reading teaching of ancient poems in high school is discussed from the perspectives of high school language curriculum standards,unified teaching materials and practical significance.Chapter 2: Current Situation Survey.The questionnaire and interview methods were used to investigate the implementation of group reading teaching of ancient poems in two high schools in Hubei,and the data were analyzed.Chapter 3: Analyzing the results of the questionnaire and interviews,the problems of group reading teaching of ancient poems in high schools are as follows: teachers’ one-sided understanding of the concept of group reading teaching,teachers’ lack of initiative in using group reading teaching,teachers’ single topic setting and text processing for group reading teaching of ancient poems,and teachers’ lack of in-depth reflection on group reading teaching of ancient poems.Finally,the reasons for the above problems are explored.Chapter 4: In view of the existing problems of group reading teaching of ancient poems in high school,teaching strategies are proposed from the following four aspects:deepening teachers’ concept of group reading teaching,mobilizing teachers’ initiative in group reading teaching,improving teachers’ practical ability in group reading teaching of ancient poems,and strengthening teachers’ reflection on group reading teaching of ancient poems. |
