With the increase of rounds brought about by the equipment reform and the increasing competition in the international table tennis arena,"comprehensive technology and outstanding expertise" has become the main theme of the development of competitive table tennis. The enrichment and improvement of crossboard backhand techniques provide necessary tactical support for the implementation and implementation of a proactive, balanced and comprehensive tactical policy. In this context, the quality of the backhand "topspin" technique has become one of the leading factors in today’s competitive competitions. The coaching team of the national table tennis team unanimously believes that Lin Shidong’s backhand pull topspin technique is the best among the new generation of athletes and can be used as a template for outstanding athletes. However,Xiang Peng’s backhand pull topspin technique has certain problems and needs further improvement. This study used two high-speed cameras(with a shooting frequency of 200 frames)to conduct a three-dimensional kinematics test on the technical movements of Lin Shidong and Xiang Peng’s backhand pull up rotation(10 times each),and used Simimotion software to analyze them.MATLAB software was used to calculate the projection angles of the shoulder and hip joints in the sagittal, coronal, and horizontal planes of the human body.An independent sample T-test was conducted on the kinematic parameters of two athletes at different stages of backhand pull up spin techniques, revealing the similarities and differences between the two athletes’ backhand pull up spin techniques. The purpose was to provide a reference for Xiang Peng’s diagnosis and optimization of backhand pull up spin techniques, and to reveal the kinematic characteristics of the outstanding backhand pull up spin techniques of the new generation of male table tennis players,It can provide a reference for table tennis reserve talents and the improvement of backhand pull topspin skills in table tennis for the general public. The main research results and conclusions are as follows:(1)When Lin Shidong completed a backhand pull up rotation,1.124 ± 0.069 s was longer than Xiang Peng’s 0.963 ± 0.039s(p<0.01),and the total displacement distance of Lin Shidong was 2.388 ± 0.052 m,which was smaller than Xiang Peng’s 2.584 ± 0.072m(p<0.01),indicating that Lin Shidong’s overall movement was smaller. It is suggested that Xiang Peng should appropriately reduce the amplitude of the overall backhand pull up rotation motion, and pay attention to the relaxation of the muscles at the end of the lead shot and at the restoration time.(2)The adduction amplitude(26.584 ± 3.453 °)of the shoulder joint on Lin Shidong’s holding side during the introduction phase is greater than that of Xiang Peng(16.638 ±4.869 °),and the internal rotation amplitude(31.299 ± 4.497 °)is smaller than that of Xiang Peng(44.552 ± 7.835 °);The range of change in Lin Shidong’s shoulder joint is smaller than that of Xiang Peng from the stroke stage to the end of the follow up swing. This indicates that Lin Shidong’s shoulder joint on the racket holding side is more stable when swinging and hitting the ball, which may make his movement frame more fixed and improve the stability of the ball.(3)The elbow and wrist angles of Lin Shidong on the racket holding side were greater than those of Xiang Peng at each characteristic moment(p<0.05),and the backhand movement was more stretchy. On the non clapping hand side,Lin Shidong’s upper limb shoulders and elbows are more stable, and the range and speed of change of joint angle are smaller than those of Xiang Peng(p<0.05).It is recommended that Xiang Peng’s elbow and wrist joints be more relaxed, appropriately increasing the joint angle, and strengthening the control of the non clapping side shoulder and elbow joints to reduce their range of change.(4)The difference in the lower limbs of the two people’s backhand pull-up rotation technique is mainly reflected in the obvious transition of Lin Shidong’s lower limbs from the non grip side to the grip side, and the greater speed of the non grip side.During the entire movement cycle of Xiang Peng, the amplitude and speed of changes in both lower limbs tend to be synchronized, relying on both legs to push and extend simultaneously. It is recommended that Xiang Peng’s lower limbs should pay attention to increasing the stretching from left to right when performing backhand pull up rotation.
