Study On The Influence Of Rural Basic Endowment Insurance On Family Education Expenditure

Under the background of rural revitalization,it is urgent to promote rural economic development.At present,there is a certain gap between urban and rural economic development.According to the theory of human capital,the most important thing for economic development is to develop human capital,which is more important than material capital.The core measure of human capital is education expenditure.Therefore,one of the most fundamental ways to realize rural revitalization and completely change the poor rural areas in the past is to improve the education level of rural children.Although the level of education in rural areas has been improved to a certain extent than in the past,but faced with the aging population,rural children’s education opportunities will be affected to a certain extent.China is stepping into the aging stage of the population,rural families bear a heavier burden of pension than before,which will lead to a greater part of the income of rural families will be allocated to the elderly in the pension,in the case of fixed family budget constraints,it may squeeze out the education expenditure for the family house.As a supplementary policy,the rural basic endowment insurance can provide basic old-age security for rural families.It can not only provide certain old-age support for the elderly in rural families,but also strengthen the rural families’ support for their children’s education to a certain extent,making rural families more confident and more capable of increasing their support for their children’s education.Previous studies on rural endowment insurance mainly focused on the impact of endowment insurance on consumption and savings,but there were few studies on its impact on family education expenditure.As we know,the original intention of rural basic endowment insurance is to provide support for the elderly in rural areas,and the traditional way of endowment insurance is intergenerational support based on the family unit,and the education level of the descendants affects the support of the descendants to the grandparents to a large extent,so it is particularly important to study the impact of rural basic endowment insurance on the family education expenditure.This paper uses the panel data of CFPS database from 2010 to 2016,and uses the individual fixed effect model to study the impact of rural basic endowment insurance on family education expenditure.Through theoretical analysis and empirical test,it finally concludes that rural basic endowment insurance has a significant impact on family education expenditure.On this basis,robustness test and heterogeneity analysis are made to further strengthen the accuracy of the conclusion.Finally,the conclusion and corresponding countermeasures are proposed.
