Primary school mathematics is the basic curriculum for schools to cultivate students’ citizenship quality,and it is also an important cornerstone of students’ future work and study.As an important part of primary school mathematics,the learning effect of "Hours,Minutes and Seconds" is what we focus on.As a primary school mathematics teacher who has been working for a long time,we found that the mastery of students’ knowledge of unit “Hours,Minutes and Seconds” is not ideal.We will try to find out the reasons that affect the teaching effect and give corresponding solutions.In the first chapter,the author introduced the research results of comparative analysis of teaching materials,especially the teaching materials of the unit “Hours,Minutes and Seconds”,and the research results of the teaching summary of the unit “Hours,Minutes and Seconds” are also introduced.In the second chapter,focusing on the compilation of the textbook of unit "Hours,Minutes and Seconds" and the teaching effect,we conducted a questionnaire survey among the students in Grade 2 of Fengming Primary School in Jincheng City and Grade 3of Star Primary School in Taigu District of Jinzhong City,and conducted one-to-one interviews with eight math teachers in these two schools,finding out the problems and shortcomings in the textbook and teaching in the eyes of classmates and teachers.In the third chapter,starting from the Beijing Normal University Edition and the People’s Education Edition currently used in China,using literature research method,comparative research method,questionnaire method and other research methods,based on the combination of quantitative description and qualitative description,from the content setting of the textbook,the distribution of knowledge points,the column navigation and presentation method,the type and background of examples and exercises,finally obtained the following results: the People’s Education Edition is easier to grasp;The Beijing Normal University Edition is more commanding in students’ quality and more abundant in the type of examples and exercises;the two editions of textbooks do not involve examples of scientific situation backgrounds,but they have the same central idea:embodying life-oriented,activity-oriented,problem-oriented,mathematical thinking-cultivating mathematics.At the same time,the author put forward some suggestions to the textbook editors: humanity column should be increased;the content of the textbook should be enriched with the background of examples and exercises,and the content of the textbook should be written in a language that is closer to life.In the fourth chapter,combined with experience,as well as the results of the investigation and interview in Chapter 2 and the results of the comparison of textbooks in Chapter 3,we give several teaching strategies for the unit “Hours,Minutes and Seconds”:the teachers should create learning situations from the reality of students’ lives;the teachers should establish the connection between thinking and action,and cultivate students’ time concept quickly;teachers should interact more with students in class,and the teachers can use the teaching method of question string to guide students to explore independently;the teachers should infiltrate and cultivate students’ mathematical thoughts in teaching;the teachers should optimize homework design,and cannot use mechanical calculation as the only way of homework.At the same time,this chapter also gives teaching case of teaching according to the above teaching strategies.Finally,some suggestions are put forward for teachers who use the two editions of teaching materials:teachers should use the teaching materials flexibly and creatively in teaching,and design a teaching plan suitable for their students in combination with the teaching strategies we give.
