Qinghai province’s Tibetan area is one of the largest tibetan-inhabited area except China’s Tibet autonomous region.China has ten Tibetan autonomous prefectures.There are six in Qinghai province,Yushu,Guoluo,Haixi,Haibei,Huangnan,Hainan Tibetan autonomous prefectures.The Tibetan population is about two million one hundred thousand,accounting for 36% of the whole province’s total population.The poor living environment and slow economic development of these Tibetan-dominated autonomous prefectures lead to the lack of educational resources.The supply of basic educational resources in these autonomous prefectures is seriously insufficient,which gives rise to a very special mode of running a school for ethnic minority education in China.That is a mode of running a school in different places.The students are sent to the provincial capital Xining of Qinghai province where the economic condition is better than their hometown.Students in these schools can get the rich resources,such as San Jiang Yuan Minzu Middle school,Guoluo middle school.What’s more,students can be sent to Beijing,Liaoning,Chengdu,Chongqing,Hubei and other provinces to enjoy better education.In the special mode of running schools in different places,because of the humanistic and instrumental nature of The Chinese discipline,the teaching of Chinese plays a very important role for Tibetan students’ development.For many years,this kind of schools and classes use the bilingual teaching mode.All the subjects are taught mostly in Chinese,except the Tibetan language subject is taught by the Tibetan language.Compared with the han students,Tibetan students’ Chinese level is more important.The teaching of Chinese reading is an important part of the Chinese subject.However,because these students live in the Tibetan language environment since they were born,Tibetan language is a natural mother language,even as a kind of social mother language.Chinese,as a second language for them,the time of learning Chinese is short and the accumulation of vocabulary is not enough.The lack of basic Chinese reading ability affects the overall quality of the Chinese language teaching,This requires us to conduct in-depth investigation and careful research in Chinese classroom teaching under this special.Based on the class of the school where the author works,this study is aim to study the existing problems and improvement strategies of Tibetan students’ teaching of Chinese reading by means of literature research,investigation and practical research.In this kind of teaching mode,the lack of interest in reading and the weak language foundation are universal problems among these students.For many teachers who are still in the process of groping lack discipline theory guidance,and don’t have effective teaching method to this special group.At present,the textbooks used by Tibetan students in schools are the same as the Chinese textbooks compiled by the Ministry of Education for Han students.In terms of curriculum setting and teaching,the Chinese Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)is also adopted as the standard,which is divorced from the actual conditions of Tibetan students.Based on the present situation,this paper will deeply analyze the long-distance education in Qinghai province and the mode of present teaching situation of Chinese reading.It will conduct the thorough research to the improvement strategy,analyze the question and strive to explore suitable teaching method of Chinese reading for these Tibetan students.What’s more,it will improve teachers’ teaching ability of reading and the Tibetan students’ ability of reading.
