Reading is an important way for a person’s lifelong development and growth,and reading teaching has always been the top priority of Chinese teaching.The 2017 edition of the Chinese Curriculum Standards for Ordinary High Schools first proposed the learning task group as a learning method.As the first of the 18 learning task groups,the "whole book reading and discussion" clearly emphasizes that students should read a novel and academic work within the specified scope,with the focus on helping students accumulate reading experience and methods of the whole book.Reading a whole book is of great significance to senior high school students who are in the critical period of the formation of world outlook and values.The improvement of students’ autonomous learning ability,academic progress and enrichment of the spiritual world are inseparable from "whole book reading".The unified version of senior high school Chinese textbooks officially put into use in 2019 has boldly broken through the traditional single article selection.The fifth unit of the compulsory volume I has added the whole book reading unit,and Mr.Fei Xiaotong’s sociological work " Rural China " has been selected as the reading bibliography.The reading value of Rural China,as well as the demonstration and leading role of the whole book’s reading teaching,are self-evident.However,in actual Chinese teaching,the unfamiliar learning task groups of "academic works" and "whole book reading and discussion" have posed great challenges to front-line teachers.Based on the above understanding,the author collected relevant literature,took the "whole book reading teaching" in front-line teaching as the research object,investigated and analyzed the whole book reading teaching of the academic work " Rural China " in a high school in Zunyi,summarized and combed the problems in the whole book reading teaching,and tried to put forward corresponding teaching strategies.This paper is mainly divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research background,research purpose and significance,research methods,defines the concepts of "whole book reading" and "academic works",and combs the previous research results.The second part is an analysis of the current situation of the reading teaching of the whole book "Rural China ".The author takes the senior one students and teachers in the language group of a middle school in Zunyi as the research samples,and sets up questionnaires from the perspectives of students and teachers to conduct questionnaire survey and analysis;And some teachers were interviewed to understand the problems that teachers have in the teaching of reading the whole book of Rural China.The third part is the implementation strategy of the reading course teaching of the whole book of the academic work "Rural China".It is necessary to plan as a whole and build a reading course plan systematically.Specifically,the course plan can be formulated from the text analysis of "Rural China",the analysis of students’ learning,the determination of teaching entry point,the formulation of course objectives,the arrangement of course contents,and the design and evaluation of reading tasks.Based on the learning situation,explore the reading strategies of students in the academic work "Rural China";Based on the characteristics of the text,this paper explores the teaching strategies of the academic work "Rural China ".Teachers can grasp the construction of "whole","special","learning" and "thinking" in the "whole book reading" of "Rural China" to carry out reading teaching;It can also promote the teaching of the reading course of the academic work "Rural China" through colorful learning activities;Teachers should attach importance to the monitoring and evaluation of the students’ reading process of Rural China,and implement multiple and dynamic evaluations.The fourth part is the conclusion,which combs the innovation and shortcomings of this study.
