| Malaysia is the country which has the most complete overseas Chinese education system.In 1930 s,"Nanyang" Chinese textbooks began to appear.Until the 1950 s,Malaysian Chinese primary schools realized the transformation from "Sinicization" to "localization".Most of the current studies are the comparative analysis of cultural factors in common Chinese cultural textbooks,and the lack of the evolution research of Chinese cultural content.The paper tries to study the evolution of cultural content in Malaysian primary Chinese textbooks in 1940s-1970 s.Taking five sets of Chinese textbooks as examples in this period,to analyze the evolution of different cultures of China,Malaysia and the others,and to summarize the inheritance of Chinese culture and the introduction of local culture,in order to give some enlightenment to Chinese textbooks in the future.The study finds that in 1940s-1970 s,the Chinese textbooks of Malaysian primary schools experienced a process from Chinese culture to Malay culture.The Chinese textbooks in the primary schools in Malaysia mainly inherited the Chinese culture through Chinese "Literature and Art" and "History and Figures",and realized the localization through the addition of "Products and Scenic spots" and "History and Figures" of Malaysia.Chinese and Malaysian historical figures of "History and Figures" showed different development tracks.Chinese historical figures focused from national thought to cultural significance,while Malaysian historical figures mainly highlighted the social significance of building Malaysia."Literature and Art" focused on inheriting Chinese classics,while expanded the literary works of Malaysia and other countries."Products and Scenic spots" and "Folk customs and Festivals" showed the trend of weakening Chinese culture and strengthening Malaysian culture.The evolution of cultural content reflects the early Chinese textbooks of humanistic and "for my use". |
