With the improvement of China’s comprehensive national strength and the strengthening of educational exchanges between China and Africa,more and more African students choose to study in China Tianjin is an important city for China’s education aid to Africa.African students are an important part of the group of international students coming to Tianjin.The learning experience of African students in Tianjin is an important indicator to reflect the quality of international students’ education in Tianjin universities Therefore,from the perspective of African students,the study experience in Tianjin universities provides a new perspective for the evaluation of the educational quality of foreign students in Tianjin universities.This study is based on qualitative research methods.Twelve African students and two teachers are selected as participants in Tianjin T University by purposeful sampling.In-depth interviews are used to study African students’ learning experience from four dimensions: professional knowledge learning experience,academic interpersonal experience,campus support environment and African students’ reflective experience Professional knowledge learning is divided into classroom participation in teachers’ teaching examination evaluation of educational practice activities and academic pressure;Academic interpersonal communication is divided into communication with students and communication with teachers.Campus support environment is divided into campus infrastructure international student management service scholarship;The reflective experience of African students can be divided into personal role transformation,personal effort and sublimation of national emotion.By analyzing the interview data of African students’ learning experience and combining with the theory of student development and push-pull theory,we find that African students’ learning experience has the following characteristics: first,African students’ learning experience is a constantly changing process;second,students with different academic qualifications and levels have different experiences in professional training path,learning purpose,academic stressors,learning input and so on;third,African students’ learning experience is influenced by multiple factors The influencing factors of African international students’ learning experience include individual differences,teachers,peers and other important others,international students’ management services,COVID-19 epidemic factors.In order to improve the quality of international students’ education in T University and strengthen the international competitiveness of international students’ education in T University,this study puts forward some suggestions from two subjects: school and students First,schools need to improve the training system for international students,including enriching enrollment channels and raising the entrance threshold;Improve the integrated education for international students;Enhance teachers’ cross-cultural communication ability;Improve the internship and employment system for international students;Improve the self-management mechanism of international students Second,African students should adjust their personal mentality and make academic plans,including enhancing the identity of colleges and universities and actively responding to academic challenges;Increase self-discipline and improve Chinese level and knowledge literacy;Correct the mentality and actively build the emotional community between teachers and students.
