In 2021,the"Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Homework and Off-Campus Training for Students in Compulsory Education"clearly states the requirement to reduce the learning burden of students and implement the requirement to improve quality and reduce the burden in schools[1].The"six-step project-based" learning process is a classroom model based on existing mature cases and combined with the content of junior high school science textbooks, which is expected to effectively improve classroom efficiency, reduce students’learning burden and help implement the"double reduction".The"six-step project-based"learning process includes six steps:integration of teaching materials, project selection, project investigation, project output, project evaluation and project explanation. The integration of teaching materials and project selection are the first steps, which are completed by teachers. The last four sessions are classroom sessions, led by the teacher and completed by the students as the classroom leaders. In this paper, three examples of teaching based on the’six-step project-based’learning process are presented and tested in terms of interest in learning, classroom participation, classroom difficulty and teaching effectiveness. The six-step project improved teaching effectiveness to varying degrees, with significant effects on quality and load reduction.
