The teaching of novel reading is conducive to the comprehensive improvement of students’ Chinese core quality,helping students to construct the experience of reading the whole book,master the method of reading the whole book,and develop good reading habits.More and more high school Chinese teachers realize the great value of the whole book reading and implement the whole book reading teaching activities in the teaching,but the practical effect is not ideal.The investigation shows that there are some problems in the teaching of the whole novel reading,such as students’ reading concentration,teachers’insufficient teaching preparation,and single teaching and evaluation methods.Through literature research,case analysis,questionnaire interview and other forms,this paper analyzes the causes of the current practical difficulties in the teaching of reading the whole book of novels,and believes that the reasons lie in the influence of social reading atmosphere,the limitation of teachers’ professional ability,the absence of examination content in college entrance examination,and the lack of thinking in reading of students.In addition,optimization strategies are proposed from the three aspects of "teaching,learning and evaluation",and it is believed that to optimize the reading effect of students,families and schools should work together to create a reading atmosphere.In reading,students should be task-driven in reading,combine self-reading and co-reading,and combine reading and writing,so as to improve the reading effect.To optimize the teaching effect of teachers,it is necessary to improve the professional quality of teachers so as to excavate the value of text reading teaching,make good preparation in the early stage of teaching,integrate educational resources,optimize the teaching design,grasp the key points of teaching,and implement rich teaching activities based on the whole process of teaching.To optimize the effect of teaching evaluation,we should take the process as the evaluation center,change the single evaluation subject and combine various evaluation methods.
