A Study On The Application Of Focusky Software In Teaching High School Biology

Abstract/Summary:
With the development of education informatization,traditional teaching can no longer meet the teaching needs of the new era.The development of a new teaching mode that combines the Internet,big data and traditional teaching has become the main theme of contemporary education.In order to diversify teaching methods,it is clearly stated in the national policy that schools can reasonably use information technology according to the actual teaching situation and promote the effective integration of information technology and subject teaching.With the promotion of the new curriculum reform,the traditional teaching media represented by Power Point(hereinafter referred to as PPT)has brought a lot of convenience to our biology teaching and at the same time encountered an unbreakable bottleneck,so we urgently need to seek a new multimedia teaching software to break this dilemma.The traditional multimedia presentation software PPT,with its linear editing mode,is easy to isolate the connection between biological knowledge,which is not conducive to the cultivation of students’ thinking ability;Focusky software is a new multimedia presentation editing software,which adopts the whole and partial presentation mode,which is easy to establish a logical and clear presentation.It has very cool special effects,3D transformation,zooming,panning,etc.With the continuous optimization of classroom teaching methods,its unique mode of thinking also changes the status quo of students’ passive acceptance of knowledge,fully mobilizes students’ learning enthusiasm,stimulates students’ interest in learning,and thus improves the quality of classroom teaching.In order to investigate the teaching effect of Focusky software in high school biology,this paper uses literature research method,questionnaire survey method,interview method and statistical analysis based on multiple intelligence theory,constructivism theory and thinking visualization theory to carry out relevant research work.In the previous period,the author searched Focusky software-related literature and research materials on domestic and foreign literature websites,such as China Knowledge Network,Wipu Chinese Journal Service Platform,foreign language journal websites,and Chinese Dissertation Full Text Database,etc.Through collecting,organizing,analyzing and summarizing numerous literature materials,the author was able to design the research content,research ideas and teaching practice process of this paper,which laid the Theoretical foundation.In the middle term,we downloaded Focusky software and tried to design biology teaching courseware,based on the requirements of the General High School Biology Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition 2020 Revision),combined with the comments and suggestions made by subject teachers,and continuously modified and improved the courseware,which was finally applied to teaching practice.In this paper,two classes in the second year of senior high school in a high school in Nanning City were selected as the research objects and set up as the experimental class and the control class,and the experimental class used the courseware made by Focusky software to assist teaching,and the control class used the courseware made by PPT to assist teaching,and the pre-test data analysis was conducted on the October monthly examination results of biology subjects in the experimental class and the control class,respectively,and the November and December monthly The post-test data were analyzed to determine the effectiveness of the Focusky software in the actual biology classroom.Later,a questionnaire survey was conducted for the experimental classes,and face-to-face interviews were conducted with some teachers who participated in this teaching practice,aiming to understand the views and suggestions on the application of Focusky software in high school biology teaching.The results of this study:(1)Before the experiment,there was no significant difference between the experimental class and the control class in the October monthly examination in biology(P>0.05);after the experiment,the results of the November and December monthly examinations of the two classes were compared,and it was found that the mean scores of the experimental class in biology were 4.52 and 4.87 points higher than those of the control class,and the passing rates were 1.86% and 5.55% higher,respectively.The mean scores of the experimental class in Biology were 4.52 and 4.87 respectively,and the passing rates were 1.86%and 5.55% respectively.An independent sample t-test of the two scores showed that there was a significant difference between the two classes(P<0.05),indicating that the use of Focusky software-assisted teaching could improve students’ learning to a certain extent.(2)The student version of the questionnaire examined three dimensions of students’ learning status,mastery of biology knowledge,and evaluation of the production of Focusky software after applying Focusky software for teaching.In the learning status dimension,the mean value was 4.00,indicating that most of the students agreed that the improvement of their learning status;in the mastery of knowledge dimension,the mean value was 4.33,indicating that using Focusky software to assist teaching is beneficial to students’ mastery of biological knowledge.In the dimension of students’ evaluation of Focusky software’s production,the mean value was 4.22,indicating that most students preferred the production effect of Focusky software.(3)Interviews with teachers revealed that the current multimedia teaching software PPT almost occupies a monopoly in teaching,and its advantages are very obvious,but its defects are also exposed,such as limited space for slide presentation,information overload,and lack of interactivity,etc.Teachers are also very much looking forward to a new multimedia presentation software that can make up for these shortcomings.This paper concludes that the use of Focusky software in teaching biology can improve students’ learning to a certain extent.The results of the student version of the questionnaire showed that students were more focused on the course content and more willing to participate in classroom activities with Focusky software;the classroom atmosphere was more relaxed,and students could better understand and master biology knowledge,thus improving the teaching effect.The results of the teacher version of the interview showed that: students’ learning ability and learning effect were improved,and teachers were willing to try to use Focusky software-assisted teaching in the future.Therefore,the introduction of Focusky software into high school biology teaching is in line with the needs of the times.
