In an era of diversified information channels,single-channel communication and single-sensory reception has been replaced by a combination of multiple channels in order to make the classroom more efficient and to promote a ’student-centred’philosophy.It focuses on the symbiosis of channels and senses in the form of a flexible integration of multiple channels and teaching methods to stimulate students’ multisensory experiences, thereby effectively enhancing the music classroom.By introducing multimodal teaching into the middle school music classroom, this paper offers new perspectives and ideas to promote ’student-centred’ construction and effective music classrooms. The paper is divided into four parts, using methods such as documentary analysis, observation and practice.Firstly, the first part provides an overview of the concept of multimodal teaching and its teaching characteristics, and clarifies the need for research on its use in junior high school music classrooms. The second part discusses the feasibility of multimodal teaching in the junior high school music classroom, not only in terms of its theoretical fit with the music classroom standards, but also in terms of its applicability in the actual design of all aspects of the classroom.Having established its feasibility, the author then proceeded to design the study in preparation for the practical research in Part III.The third part of the paper is divided into three stages. In the first stage, the author chose to start from the actual observation of classroom records and questionnaire results to identify problems;in the second stage, based on the actual situation and problem summary, the principles and strategies related to multimodal teaching were summarised and the case plan was carried out according to the strategies;in the third stage, the classroom implementation of the case design was carried out and the relevant effectiveness analysis was conducted after the practice in order to find out the effectiveness of multimodal teaching in junior high school music teaching;finally, the fourth stage of the article is to conduct a study on the effectiveness of multimodal teaching in junior high school music teaching. Finally, the fourth part of the article reflects on the implementation of multimodal teaching in the junior high school music classroom, making recommendations and concluding with relevant perspectives. The analysis of actual music classes in this study shows that the use of modality by teachers is closely related to students’ enjoyment of music lessons. The results of the study also show that, compared to traditional teaching methods,audio-visual-kinesthetic multimodal teaching is more engaging and can stimulate students to use their senses in a deeper way to enhance their understanding of the learning content.
