In the past decade of the new era,ideological and political work in universities makes significant achievements,which must adhere to the leadership of the the Communist Party of China and need the diligent work of staff.As the frontline staff of ideological and political work in universities,college counselors’ ideological and political qualities are crucial for carrying out ideological and political work.Nowadays,based on the new journey,higher requirements have been put forward for the cultivation of the qualities of college counselors in the new era of educating people for the Party and the country.The requirements are not just whether they have,but whether they are hard or not.Therefore,taking college counselors as the research object and focusing on excellent ideological and political qualities is of great significance for improving the quality of talent cultivation and building an educational powerhouse.This thesis focuses on the ideological and political qualities of college counselors in the new era,analyzes the main connotations and basic characteristics,sorts out the theoretical,policy,and practical basis,and explores the important significance of it.Based on this,by reviewing the development of the college counselor system and historical consideration of the present,summarize and analyze the evolution process of college counselors and their ideological and political qualities in the new era.The theoretical and practical status indicates that since the establishment of the college counselor system,the identity,team composition,and responsibilities of college counselors have continuously changed with the development of the times.Correspondingly,the ideological and political qualities of college counselors have also been enriched and developed in terms of feature matching,enhancing strength,and factor allocation,forming the basic experience of it.Political quality,ideological quality,moral quality,and legal quality are the ideological and political qualities that college counselors in the new era should possess as general ideological and political educators.However,due to their professional particularity,they should also possess a firm belief in Marxism,a value pursuit of education as the foundation,a professional sentiment of dedication and love for students,and a management philosophy of self-discipline and self-interest.Following the basic principles of combining scientificity with politics,combining theory with practice,and integrating overall promotion with classified policies,with the goal of improving ideological and political quality,we will leverage internal and external driving forces to make college counselors a confidant of young friends,a passionate person for youth work,a guide for young students,and a guardian of student interests,and assist in the professional and professional development of college counselors in the new era.
