Sportsmanship is a crucial part of the revision of the physical education curriculum since it is one of the three fundamental qualities in physical education. The goal of the current research was to determine how well a new integrated teaching approach of "learning, practice, competition, and evaluation" worked in fostering sportsmanship among high school students from third-tier cities.Theoretical research, the development and validation of a novel model, and the investigation of teaching methodologies comprised the study’s three primary phases. The research used a variety of techniques, including a literature review, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics, and experimental observation,to establish indicators and scales based on the three aspects of sportsmanship,i.e.,sports character, sports spirit, and sports ethics. In order to evaluate the level of development of sportsmanship among senior high school students in Beiliu City,Guangxi, descriptive and difference analyses were carried out using SPSS.27.0.Sportsmanship and the integrated teaching model were compared using Pearson correlation analysis, and regression analysis was performed to gauge how well the new model matched the data. The independent samples t-test was used to compare the new model’s applicability in the experimental class at Beiliu City Experimental High School before and after its adoption. The theoretical information yielded the following conclusions:(1)According to the results of the questionnaire survey, there is much space for growth in the high school students in Beiliu City’s overall development of sportsmanship.Sportsmanship, according to the results of a Pearson correlation analysis, was positively correlated with the satisfaction with the new model, sports character, sports spirit, and sports ethics((P<0.001))),and the correlation coefficients between each of these factors ranged from 0.4 to 0.8,indicating significant relationships and the importance of the research.(2)The R-squared explanatory power was 0.486 when the satisfaction of the new integrated teaching model and the three dimensions of sportsmanship were incorporated in the regression analysis model, confirming the validity of the new model. The experimental class’ s difference value for the development of sportsmanship before and after the new model’s deployment was P<0.05,suggesting the new model’s considerable impact on sportsmanship instruction.(1)The current study’s conclusion made a new teaching model of "learning, practice, competition, and evaluation" merged with sportsmanship education, which has the potential to considerably enhance high school students’ growth of sportsmanship. The research offers first-line instructors helpful resources for developing sportsmanship among high school pupils.(2)The efficacy of sportsmanship education in physical education courses has been significantly improved by the teaching strategies suggested in the research for each aspect of sportsmanship at each step of the teaching model.(3)An innovative outcome of the "learning, practice, competition, and evaluation" integrated teaching reform, the new integrated teaching model serves as a model for the development of the "learning, practice, competition, and evaluation" integrated teaching system in the future.
