With the advent of the new era,the current society has reduced the demand for talents cultivated by traditional liberal arts, and the necessity for more high-quality compound and applied talents. In this context, the national strategy of "new liberal arts" came into being, which also brings a number of new challenges to the education of social work majors in China. Not only should social work professional education focus on high-quality development, but also on the scale of the construction.Interdisciplinary cooperation is one of the important measures to promote the high-quality development of social work professional education.Despite the fact that the application of interdisciplinary cooperation in other fields is not uncommon, social work students taking part in interdisciplinary cooperation is still a relatively new educational practice. The professional competence and professional attitudes demonstrated by social work students in interdisciplinary cooperation need urgent attention. As a result,on the basis of the interdisciplinary cooperation case between social work students and design students, this paper aims to examine how social work students play their subjectivity in interdisciplinary cooperation, and what deficiencies of subjectivity are? What is the cause of insufficient subjectivity? How to assist them in reshaping their subjectivity through social work and professional methods?Seven social work students were involved in this study.Firstly, analyse the lack of subjectivity from the perspectives of partners, social work students, and researchers;Secondly, assess the three dimensions of autonomy, initiative, and experience;Thirdly, within the context of social-ecological theory, discuss the underlying factors from macro, medium, and micro standpoint. Finally, guided by the energy enhancement perspective, social work students can improve in individual, interpersonal, and environmental aspects to finally complete the reshaping of their subjectivity as social work students.Through research,it has been found that the lack of subjectivity of social work students is reflected in the lack of autonomy in the innovation and creation of participatory activity design. Some social work students are lazy, and inefficient, and pay increasing attention to internal interpersonal relationships while ignoring the project’s immersive experience. The subjectivity of social work students,on the other hand,is primarily reflected in the "active discovery of problems" and "active problem solving",and social work can give full play to the "soft" power, and complement the "hard" power of design majors.Under the background of "new liberal arts",social work majors as well as design majors have the feasibility of cross-integration and can carry out interdisciplinary cooperation in a wider range of multiple fields, and benefit more socially conscious individuals.
