Abstract/Summary:
With the increase of the number of single-parent families, the problem behavior of teenagers in single-parent families has attracted extensive attention from the society.Understanding how and what happens in peer relationships among adolescents from single-parent families,as adolescents, especially those from single-parent families, spend relatively more time with their peers and the role of peers in shaping adolescents’psychosocial development,It is of great significance to understand the adolescent development of adolescents in single-parent families. However, previous studies have not made a comprehensive explanation of the peer relationship establishment of adolescents in single-parent families.Based on the life course theory, this paper takes teenagers from single parent families as the research object, and makes an exploratory research on the establishment and development of the peer relationship of teenagers from single parent families using qualitative research methods. It is found that after experiencing the major event of parental divorce, teenagers from single parent families have developed two types of peer relationship building that exert subjective initiative under the dual effects of the accumulation of disadvantages of single parent rearing and the emotional compensation of peer replacement. This is the result of the influence of important events in family and school on personality traits,self-cognition and attitudes.By reproducing the life course of adolescents in single-parent families, this study truly and deeply reflects their needs and troubles about peer relationship in the growing process, and interprets the growing experience of adolescents in single-parent families from the perspective of life course theory, which can make us see the dynamic shaping process between individual characteristics, environmental factors and peer relationship.Explore the root factors,non-root factors and non-factors that affect the peer relationship of teenagers in single parent families.Based on the research conclusions, this paper puts forward some suggestions on adolescent social work, such as setting up a home-school-community joint mechanism to adjust the family environment, incorporating peer relationship into the scope of school education to enhance peer support, guiding the setting of emotional "beat" to promote self-disclosure,and setting up diverse scores to improve self-cognition.
