STEAM education concept originated from the United States and developed from STEM education concept.It has attracted wide attention in the field of physics education in middle schools in China.The STEAM education concept emphasizes the cross-integration of multi-disciplinary knowledge.By combining science,technology,engineering,art and mathematics,it enhances students ’ understanding and application of interdisciplinary knowledge and cultivates students ’ innovative spirit and practical ability.Physics,as a natural basic discipline,also has the characteristics of interdisciplinary integration.In particular,the new theme of interdisciplinary practice added to the new " Compulsory Education Physics Curriculum Standards(2022 Edition)" promulgated in April 2022 highlights the interdisciplinary integration characteristics of physics,which is consistent with the emphasis of STEAM education concept.This paper collects and combs the relevant literature of STEAM education concept,understands the development status and development trend of STEAM education at home and abroad,and has a deeper understanding of the theoretical research and practical research of STEAM education in China.Through the analysis of the characteristics of STEAM education and the interpretation of the new compulsory education physics curriculum standards,we find the compatibility of STEAM education concept to cultivate students ’ core literacy in physics.According to the types of physics courses and teaching objectives,the STEAM education application courses are classified,the implementation steps of various types of courses are sorted out,and they are compared with project-based teaching.Finally,it is decided to carry out follow-up teaching practice with project-based teaching methods.This paper studies the design of project-based teaching mode,and determines.the course mode of teaching practice research based on STEAM education concept to cultivate students’ core literacy as follows:project introduction,project exploration,project interpretation,project practice and project evaluation.In the process of teaching practice,three project-based teaching cases are designed.The first two cases are practiced in grade 8,and the practice objects are students of two classes in grade 8.The two classes are divided into experimental class and control class.The classroom practice based on STEAM education concept is carried out in the experimental class,and the traditional teaching is carried out in the control class.After a period of classroom practice based on STEAM education concept,the experimental class students and the control class students were tested for professional performance.After collecting,sorting and analyzing the scores of the experimental class and the control class,the results show that the scores of the experimental class based on the STEAM education concept are slightly higher than those of the control class.The core literacy training questionnaire was distributed to the students,and the questionnaire was collected and processed.By comparing the quantitative scores of the students in the control class and the experimental class,it can be concluded that the classroom teaching based on the STEAM education concept can effectively cultivate the core literacy of the students.In summary,it is feasible to implement the classroom teaching of STEAM education concept in junior middle school physics classroom,which is conducive to the improvement of students’performance and the cultivation of core literacy of physics.
