| With the continuous policy of reducing the burden of primary and secondary schools introduced by the Ministry of Education,junior high school students have more and more free time,and their learning life has become more flexible and personalized.However,junior high school students’ physical and mental development is still immature,and they are susceptible to undesirable factors or temptations that lead to the inability to use their time rationally,so new demands are made on students’ ability to plan and manage their time.In this study,three junior high schools in Tongliao City were used as the research objects,and the three variables of time management tendency,self-efficacy,and sense of meaningfulness of life were used to explore their internal connections,in order to explain the current situation of time management and the problems of junior high school students,and to propose countermeasures and suggestions in the context of mental health education.Taking a class as a unit,548 junior high school students were selected as the research subjects.The subjects were tested using the Time Management Disposition Questionnaire,General Self Efficacy Questionnaire,and Life Meaning Questionnaire.Through a systematic study of junior high school students’ time management tendencies,self-efficacy,sense of life significance,and the characteristics of each dimension,and exploring the predictive role of junior high school students’ self-efficacy,sense of life significance on time management tendencies,we have a comprehensive understanding of the reality of time management among beginners,and have a comprehensive understanding of the impact of self-efficacy and sense of life significance on time management tendencies,Enrich the theory of time management disposition,provide direction for schools to carry out mental health education,and promote the improvement of junior high school students’ time management disposition.The results of the study showed that:(1)Junior high school students’ time management tendency and sense of meaningfulness of life were at an intermediate to high level,and there were no significant differences in gender,whether they were only children,or whether they were single-parent families,but there were significant differences in grade level,with junior high school students being larger than junior high school students,and junior high school students being larger than junior high school students.The self-efficacy of junior high school students was at an intermediate level,and there were no significant differences in gender,grade level,and whether they were only children.(2)Junior high school students’ self-efficacy,sense of meaning of life,and time management tendency are significantly correlated.(3)Junior high school students’ self-efficacy predicted sense of life meaning and time management tendency,sense of life meaning positively predicted time management tendency,and sense of life meaning mediated the relationship between self-efficacy and time management tendency.Finally,in response to the study results,suggestions for improving junior high school students’ time management tendency were proposed from four aspects: social level,school education,family education,and self-education. |
