UbD theory advocates that teaching objectives pursue understanding and reverse design of teaching ideas,which is of great value for implementing students’ core language literacy,improving the effectiveness of language teaching,and promoting language teaching reform.The Standards for the Language Curriculum in Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)and the unified compilation of junior secondary school language textbooks call for unit teaching with integrated characteristics.However,there are problems in the current teaching design of junior high school Chinese units in terms of goal design,evaluation design and activity design.Accordingly,this paper attempts to introduce UbD theory into the teaching of junior high school Chinese units,and constructs an operation mode of teaching design of junior high school Chinese units based on UbD theory,so as to provide reference for the teaching design of junior high school Chinese units.This paper conducts research based on the idea of "what-why-how",and discusses the teaching design of junior high school Chinese units based on UbD theory in five chapters.Chapter 1 elaborates on this research from seven aspects,including research background,research significance,concept definition,and research review.Chapter 2 expounds UbD theory from three aspects: basic ideas,key elements,and theoretical value.The operation mechanism of UbD theory is clarified: focusing on understanding with big concepts,evaluating understanding with authenticity assessment,and implementing understanding with learning activities.It confirms its characteristics and values: taking students as the main body and promoting the development of literacy;Consistent teaching evaluation to improve teaching effectiveness;Goal-oriented,evaluation-driven,promote teaching reform.Chapter 3 explores the relevance of UbD theory to the teaching of junior high school Chinese units.Firstly,the compatibility of UbD theory with curriculum standards and unified textbooks is discussed,and then the practical dilemma of the current teaching design of junior high school Chinese units is clarified through case analysis,and the significance of UbD theory in optimizing the teaching design of current junior high school Chinese units is discussed.Chapter 4 proposes the operation mode of teaching design of junior high school Chinese units based on UbD theory.Taking the reverse three-stage UbD theory as the basic framework,this paper introduces the targeted and transferable operation mode in view of the problems arising in the teaching design of the above-mentioned junior high school Chinese units.Chapter 5 takes Unit 5 of the Grade 8 Upper Volume as an example to design a case of teaching design of junior high school Chinese units based on UbD theory,and explains the ideas and intentions of the entire design.
