Research On The Application Of Physics Frontier Materials In The “5E” Teaching Mode Of Senior High School Physics

Abstract/Summary:
In the current era of rapid global technological development and increasing demand for scientific innovation in China,the “General High School Physics Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)” proposes that the high school physics curriculum should“focus on the timeliness of the curriculum and pay attention to the needs of scientific and social development”,requiring the reflection of important achievements and scientific ideas in contemporary science and technology in teaching.However,there is currently insufficient exploration and utilization of physics frontier materials in secondary school physics teaching.This study integrates physics frontier materials into the “5E” teaching mode in senior high school,and carries out instructional design and teaching practice centering on the core concepts and core laws of senior high school physics,aiming to cultivate student’ core physics literacy.The main research contents and related conclusions are as follows:(1)The research status of physics frontier materials and “5E” teaching mode at home and abroad are sorted out and analyzed,and the application status of “5E” teaching mode and physics frontier materials in senior high school physics teaching are investigated by designing student questionnaires and teacher interviews.The results of the questionnaire and interviews show that most students have insufficient understanding of physics frontier materials in physics,and teachers make insufficient use of physics frontier materials in the teaching process.(2)Based on the literature review and survey interview results,the teaching implementation principles and implementation strategies of integrating physics frontier materials into the “5E” teaching mode are proposed.Based on constructivist learning theory,developmental teaching theory and discovery learning theory.At the same time,this study takes “Law of Conservation of Momentum” and “Total Reflection” as examples,the instructional design is carried out by using optical tweezers and optical fibers,which are frontier materials of physics.(3)Two classes of a senior high school are selected as research subjects,set up as the experimental class and the control class respectively for teaching practice,and the effects of teaching implementation are evaluated through three methods: questionnaires,standardized tests,and teacher interviews.The questionnaire data and teachers’ post-class evaluation show that the teaching method of integrating physics frontier materials into the “5E” teaching mode can effectively strengthen students’ physical cognition,cultivate the quality of physics learning,and improve the core literacy of physics.The standardized test shows that before the teaching practice,the average difference between the test score of the experimental class and the control class is 0.476 and the Sig value is 0.873,meaning that the learning levels of the students in the two classes are comparable;after the teaching practice,the average difference between the test score of the experimental class and the control class is 4.57 and the Sig value is0.042,meaning that the performance of the students in the experimental class has been significantly improved,and the teaching method of physics frontier materials combined with the “5E” teaching mode has obvious effects.In summary,this study has integrated physics frontier materials into the “5E”teaching mode,has carried out instructional design and teaching practice centered on the core concepts and laws of physics,and has achieved good teaching practice results.This teaching method has effectively improved students’ core physics literacy and can provide a reference for the efficient teaching of physics concepts and laws in senior high school.
