Special education is an important part of the education system and a sign of the development of human civilization.Special education school is an important form of education placement for special children,plays a backbone role in special education,and is an important link in the construction of high-quality special education system.The principal is the soul of a school and influences the rise and fall of a school.However,there is very little research on the principal of special education school at present.The professional development experience of some successful principals of special education school is extremely valuable and can provide reference for other principals.Principal L in this study was not from Special Education Major,but he has been rooted in the field of special education for 13 years.He has become the special principal of C City,the leader of the famous principal’s studio,and the supervisor of university master students.He has shared his achievements of reform and practice in curriculum teaching and project research more than 60 times in various provinces and cities across the country,and his projects have won the second prize of national teaching achievements.Taking the fastgrowing principal L as an example,this study uses narrative research methods to explain the pre-service growth story and professional development process of Principal L,analyzes the presentation of Principal L’s professional development level by referring to the Professional Development Standards for Principals of Compulsory Education Schools,and uses social ecosystem theory and life course theory to analyze the factors affecting Principal L’s professional development.From the macro,meso and micro levels of system analysis,the factors affecting their professional development are three aspects: cultural background and policy support,family influence and significant others,personality traits and important events.Finally,based on the above research conclusions,this paper puts forward some inspirations for promoting the professional development of principals in special education schools:Firstly,the principal of special education school should have special education feelings.On the basis of his "good roots",Principal L accepts and tolerates special children.The touching stories in his work constantly enhance his recognition of the value of special education,which is the source of motivation to promote his professional development and the basis and premise of doing a good job in special education.Secondly,we should properly grasp the trend of The Times.In the era of rapid development of education after the reform and opening up,Principal L studied hard and walked out of the mountains.When the country is vigorously building special schools,the initiative to apply for the head of a special school.When the country is vigorously developing special education,it follows the "trend" and actively commits itself to the construction of special education.This was the key to his rapid professional development;Thirdly,constantly enrich their professional knowledge,professional ability.L Principal actively learns and participates in various kinds of training in the process of professional development.Only by understanding special education can the principal do a good job in special education.Fourthly,we should be good at reflection in practice.President L is good at practical reflection in repeated questioning.Reflection in practice is the guarantee to promote the professional development of the president.Fifth,attach importance to educational scientific research.Education and scientific research is of great value in the field of special education.Principal L leads teachers to complete a number of scientific research projects,solve students’ practical problems,and achieve rapid professional development in this process.Carrying out valuable research can greatly promote the principal’s professional development.
