At present,with the rapid development of educational informatization,programming education for primary and secondary schools has become increasingly active for the general public,and is widely valued for its important role in cultivating innovative talents for young people.However,in the process of programming teaching practice based on open-source hardware,due to the lack of reference teaching cases and effective teaching methods by teachers,it is easy to encounter problems such as rigid classroom atmosphere and the inability to improve students’ abilities.On this basis,project-based teaching,as a highly respected teaching method in current information technology courses,provides new ideas and directions for the learning of open-source hardware modules in primary and secondary information technology courses with its characteristics of being close to life and encouraging group collaboration.Firstly,this study reviewed relevant literature on project-based teaching both domestically and internationally,and combined with the current research status of opensource hardware,summarized existing research results;Secondly,this study focuses on the current Suke edition of primary school information technology textbooks,and based on the open source hardware chapter content,selects xDingAI open source hardware with high compatibility and convenience to construct a project-based teaching mode.Focusing on common intelligent devices in students’ lives,this part of the content has been designed in a project-based manner,namely "Intelligent Night Light","Intelligent Clothes Hanger",and"Intelligent Sitting Correction Device".The knowledge points of the three projects progress at the upper level of difficulty,relying on xDingAI open-source hardware to help students understand the working principles of simple intelligent homes;Once again,implement the three teaching projects into three rounds of action practice,reflect and observe after each round of experiments,and invest the optimized plan in the next round of practical research;Finally,in order to test the project-based teaching effectiveness of xDingAI’s primary school"smart home",a comprehensive evaluation of the curriculum is conducted from the dimensions of student’s learning effectiveness and teacher’s classroom observation.Analysis shows that project-based teaching of "smart home" based on xDingAI is helpful for primary school students to better understand open-source hardware.The paper also summarizes the overall teaching effectiveness through questionnaire surveys and teacher-student interviews,and concludes that project-based teaching can promote students’acquisition of self-learning,problem-solving,communication and collaboration,as well as hands-on skills in the process of understanding open-source hardware.Through the practical exploration of this study,it is hopefully to provide some reference and case studies for enriching the teaching of DingAI modules in primary school information technology courses.
