| With the implementation of the new curriculum reform, students’ core mathematical literacy is the primary of development firection of middle school mathematics teaching.Solid geometry is an important content of senior high school curriculum, which undertakes the important task of cultivating students’ core literacy in mathematical modeling, mathematical abstraction, and logical reasoning. However, the knowledge of solid geometry is complex and difficult, and the level of students’ thinking is generally not high, resulting in the current situation of students’ difficulties in learning solid geometry. Therefore,it is very important to understand students’ geometric thinking level, design a reasonable teaching process, and improve students’ spatial imagination and logical reasoning abilities.Van Hiele’s theory is an excellent theory in geometric research, which advocates designing teaching based on students’ geometric thinking level, following students’ cognitive development rules, and cultivating students’ core mathematical literacy. Therefore,it is of certain significance to apply Van Hiele’s theory to guide the teaching of solid geometry.First of all,it discusses the research background of this article, expounds the research ideas and methods of this article, and uses the literature analysis method to comb and integrate the teaching and learning of Van Hiele’s theory and solid geometry to determine the research questions:(1)What level of students’ geometric thinking is?(2)Do teachers pay attention to students’ core literacy in teaching?(3)What are the reasons why students have difficulty learning solid geometry?(4)How to use Van Hiele theory to improve students’ core literacy?Secondly, through questionnaire and test methods, the author investigated the teaching and learning situation in the solid geometry reality classroom, analyzed the reasons, and provided practical basis and effective reliance for the application of Van Hiele’s theory to the teaching strategies in the solid geometry classroom. The survey results show that students generally have insufficient spatial construction ability, inadequate understanding of theorem formulas, poor mathematical language expression, and transfer of geometric thinking patterns in junior high schools;Teachers have less penetration of mathematical core literacy in teaching, and the arrangement of teaching activities is unreasonable. Finally, through a preliminary interpretation of solid geometry in the "New Curriculum Standards" and combining the characteristics of Van Hiele’s theory, the author proposes five teaching strategies for solid geometry based on Van Hiele’s theory.Based on the teaching strategy, this paper presents a teaching design based on Van Hiele’s theory, taking two classes,"The Determination Theorem of Perpendicularity between a Plane and a Plane" and "The Determination Theorem and Property Theorem of Parallel Lines and Planes",as examples. |
