For a country or nation,cultural confidence means a deep cognition of the cultural connotation it carries and a firm belief in its cultural vitality.Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 edition)has changed "cultural inheritance and understanding" in Chinese Curriculum Standards for Ordinary High School(2017 edition,2020 revision)into "cultural confidence" and placed the core quality in the first place,which is worthy of attention and thinking.As an important base to build up cultural confidence,Chinese curriculum,with its unique cultural attributes and cultural missions,undertakes the responsibility of cultivating students’cultural confidence.We should fully realize the important value of our own culture.In the process of language learning,we should love the standard Chinese language and Chinese culture.We should maintain our firm confidence in inheriting,developing and innovating our excellent traditional culture,revolutionary culture and advanced socialist culture.Enrich the cultural heritage.The research shows that Chinese textbooks in junior middle school contain the essence of Chinese excellent traditional culture,ceaselessly carry the red gene of revolutionary culture and present the representative works of socialist advanced culture.From the perspective of cultural confidence,there are some problems in the current Chinese reading teaching,such as the lack of accumulation of cultural literacy,the lack of understanding of cultural connotation,the neglect of cultural experience identification,and the neglect of participation in cultural practice.In the face of the above problems,educators should renew the teaching concept and pay attention to cultural accumulation.Improving teaching methods and promoting cultural understanding;Improve teaching evaluation,enhance cultural identity;Develop teaching resources to facilitate cultural participation.From the perspective of cultural confidence,it is of great significance to the cultivation of students’ cultural self-confidence and the formation and development of students’ correct values,essential character and key ability.
