The occurrence of the new crown epidemic has exposed the vulnerability of higher education institutions in responding to emergencies and made them start to examine their own response methods and adaptability.The Internet,big data and other emerging technologies have provided new possibilities for colleges and universities to respond to emergencies,given new missions to education and teaching,and brought new vitality to colleges and universities.In order to better provide teaching and learning services in emergency situations,colleges and universities have begun to think about system resilience to mitigate the impact of crises and conflicts.In order to help colleges and universities understand their resilience level and improve system resilience of higher education institutions,this study adopts various research methods such as literature analysis method,questionnaire survey method,hierarchical analysis method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to build an evaluation index system of system resilience of higher education institutions.Firstly,this paper composes and summarizes the current status of system resilience in the fields of education,economy,management and urban disaster prevention through literature analysis method,and defines the concepts of resilience,system resilience and higher school system resilience.Secondly,this study compiled and analyzed the existing system resilience models,analyzed the basic dimensions of system resilience in higher education,and constructed a structural model of system resilience in higher education.Then,the evaluation indexes were initially determined based on the structural model,and the evaluation indexes were further determined based on the questionnaire survey results,and the weights of each index were determined by using hierarchical analysis and expert ranking method to finally form the evaluation index system.Finally,the evaluation index system of system resilience of higher education institutions was tried out.The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to derive the resilience level of college B and propose countermeasures to optimize the resilience of the college system.The main results of this study are as follows.(1)By combing and analyzing related literature and migrating the understanding of system resilience in other disciplines,this study identifies the concept of education system resilience and further derives the concept and basic dimensions of higher education system resilience,which are divided into resilience,adaptive capacity,recovery capacity and learning capacity.A structural model of higher education system resilience is constructed based on the already matured theories such as crisis life cycle theory,organizational learning theory and complex adaptation theory.Starting from the basic dimensions,the relationship between the dimensions is determined by drawing on the 4R crisis life cycle theory.(2)This study analyzed the index items from the existing literature and made an in-depth interpretation of each index item,and finally formed the index system for evaluation of higher school system resilience.This paper used questionnaires to collect the agreement degree of teachers,students and administrators on the index items,and used SPSS to conduct factor analysis and correlation analysis on the recovered questionnaire data to determine the evaluation indexes.In this study,a weighting questionnaire of the resilience index system of higher education system was set up,distributed and collected from experts and related practitioners,and the weighting of index items was obtained by counting the experts’responses.(3)This study analyzed the resilience level of university B and proposed countermeasures for it to improve the resilience level.Based on the constructed index system for evaluating the resilience of higher education system,it was tried out for college B.The feedback data from experts of college B were analyzed,the score of resilience level of college B was calculated,the problems of college B were found,and the corresponding countermeasures were proposed.
