| The new version of the Physical Education and Health Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)requires that "teaching, practising and competing" should always be implemented in the teaching process, adhering to the integrated teaching of "learning, practising and competing" to help students master1-2 sports skills. In 2017,the Chinese Basketball Association released the "Little Basketball Programme",which provides a new framework for basketball, with the aim of better meeting the special needs of children and improving their physical health, and has been widely recognised since its promotion, especially by children.love.Therefore,it has become a matter of concern for physical education practitioners to follow the rules of physical and mental development of primary school students, fully reflecting integrated teaching and learning, and enhancing students’ motor skills in a fun and educational way.Based on this, this study attempts to apply the theoretical knowledge of sports training theory, school physical education and educational psychology, through literature, knowledge mapping, questionnaires, interviews, experimental methods, mathematical statistics and other research knowledge,60 students were selected from two classes of the third grade of Dongsi XIV primary school in Dongcheng District,Beijing as the experimental subjects, and they were divided into experimental and control groups to carry out an 8-week teaching experiment. The experiment was conducted for 8 weeks, with both groups attending classes at the same time and place. The experimental group was taught small basketballs(size 5)of the U10 age group, the corresponding court size and basket height, while the control group was taught small basketballs(size 7)of the normal adult size, the standard adult court size and adult height baskets. This study attempts to reflect the effect of small basketball teaching on primary school students’ athletic ability through the changes in students’ physical fitness test scores, specific motor skills and interest in physical education learning before and after the experiment. In order to provide the majority of primary school physical education teachers, with actionable references. The results of the study show that:(1)At present, there are problems in the teaching of primary school basketball, such as unreasonable scheduling of school hours, single means,test-based content, and teachers’ satisfaction with the teaching effect.(2)Through theoretical analysis and expert interviews,16 practice methods were selected to suit the middle school students’ physical and mental characteristics, and an 8-week experimental programme was optimally designed.(3)After the 8-week experiment, the experimental group was compared with the control group in terms of physical fitness indicators: lung capacity,one-minute rope skipping and 50-meter run were significantly different, while height, weight, sitting forward bend and one-minute sit-up were not significantly different;in terms of basketball specific motor skills indicators: spot shooting and marching one-handed shoulder shot were highly significantly different, and half-court folding and dribbling There was a significant difference between the two groups. This indicates that the experimental group has a more significant effect on the promotion of students’ physical fitness test scores and a more significant effect on the improvement of students’ basketball specific motor skills.(4)After 8 weeks of basketball teaching experiment, there was a highly significant difference between the experimental group and the control group on the physical education interest scale, indicating that the experimental group was more effective in promoting students’ enthusiasm to participate in physical exercise. The use of age-appropriate basketball equipment together with the optimised design of the basketball programme was found to be more effective in increasing students’ interest in physical education. Conclusion:This study followed the idea of problem identification, problem analysis, and problem solving by using a teaching program designed with basketball equipment consistent with the use of small basketball instruction and comparing it with that of conventional adult basketball equipment. The study showed that students in the experimental group showed significant improvement in physical function, basketball skill level, physical fitness and learning attitude. The instructional program was innovative and effective in improving the athletic ability and health behaviors of middle grade elementary school students. |
