| The "Curriculum Standards for Physical Education and Health in Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)" clearly states that physical education teaching should shift from "teaching oriented" to "learning oriented".Teachers’ demonstration and explanation should be combined with students’ cooperative inquiry learning,improve teaching methods,enable students to participate more actively in the classroom,stimulate students’ active thinking,and cultivate students’ ability to analyze and solve problems."Comprehension teaching method is a teaching method that focuses on students’ cognitive activities in the process of ball game learning.It has the value of developing students’ cognitive experience and promoting students to understand the rules of ball game sports.Compared with traditional physical education teaching methods,it emphasizes more on" learning first ".This study attempts to explore the application effect of understanding teaching method and traditional physical education teaching method in basketball teaching in grade 5 of primary school.".In this study,two classes in Grade 5 of a primary school affiliated to Tsinghua University were selected to conduct an experimental study on the application of the Comprehension Teaching Method and the Traditional Physical Education Teaching Method in basketball teaching.The experimental class adopted the Comprehension Teaching Method,while the control class adopted the Traditional Physical Education Teaching Method(36 students in each of the experimental class and the control class).The teaching experiment lasted for 11 weeks(44 class hours).The teaching experiment test indicators include basketball theoretical knowledge and rules,basketball skills,basketball game performance,physical fitness,and interest in participating in basketball sports.The test tools include the "Questionnaire on Basketball Theoretical Knowledge and Rules for Students in Grade 5 of Tsinghua Affiliated Primary School",the "Chinese Youth Basketball Training Syllabus",and the GPAI ball game performance evaluation tool "National Physical Health Standards for Students(Revised in 2014)" and "Questionnaire on the Interest of Fifth Grade Students in Basketball Sports in Tsinghua Affiliated Primary School".The conclusions are as follows:1.In terms of mastering basketball theoretical knowledge and rules,the experimental class is significantly superior to the control class,with significant differences,indicating that understanding the teaching method is more conducive to promoting students’ understanding and mastery of basketball theoretical knowledge and rules.2.In terms of basketball skills,the experimental class had better technical evaluation scores and standard evaluation scores for left-handed and left-handed dribbling across the line in the entire court than the control class;There was no significant improvement in the standard evaluation scores of the 0 °,45 °,and 90 ° 5-step backward shooting in the experimental class and the control class,but the technical evaluation scores of the control class were higher than those of the experimental class.3.In terms of basketball game performance,the experimental class is significantly better than the control class,with significant differences,indicating that adopting the understanding teaching method is more conducive to improving students’ basketball game ability.4.In terms of physical fitness,there is no significant difference between the experimental class and the control class in vital capacity,sitting forward,skipping rope for one minute and sit-ups for one minute,but the experimental class is obviously better than the control class in 50-meter running and 50-meter ×8 round-trip running.5.In terms of interest in participating in basketball,the experimental class is significantly better than the control class,with significant differences.That is,using the understanding teaching method can significantly stimulate students’ interest and enthusiasm in participating in basketball,and focus on cultivating students’ ability to actively think during basketball.The research recommendations are as follows:1."The teaching of Comprehension Teaching Method conforms to the new curriculum standards and the teaching requirements of primary school basketball.It is necessary to further practice the Comprehension Teaching Method,stimulate students’ interest in participating in basketball sports,and improve their ability to apply the skills learned in actual combat.".2.Through experimental research,it is found that understanding the advantages of teaching methods and traditional physical education teaching methods complement each other,and teachers should reasonably choose corresponding teaching methods based on corresponding teaching objectives. |
