| In September 2018,General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out at the National Education Conference that "efforts should be made to enhance comprehensive quality,educate and guide students to develop comprehensive ability and innovative thinking".Application problems,as an important part of compulsory education to cultivate students’ comprehensive ability and innovative thinking,are prominent in the textbook,especially in the new Human Education version,which focuses on the introduction of practical problems in life,highlighting the practicality of mathematical knowledge;the compulsory education curriculum standards put forward the concept of allowing students to abstract mathematical problems and solve them from the actual background with the help of existing experience,again pointing out the importance of application problems.The author combines relevant literature to understand the current status of research on middle school students’ mathematical application problem solving ability,and determines the research content and research method of this thesis.Through the Questionnaire on Metacognitive Levels of Middle School Mathematics,I understand the cognitive level of eighth grade students’ learning from three dimensions of metacognitive knowledge,experience and monitoring,and the main pain points are insufficient corffidence,weak self-management ability and lack of reasonable planning;through interviews with teachers of eighth grade group,I understand the methods and approaches adopted by teachers in teaching application problems and the current situation of students’ application problem solving ability;the analysis of the"eighth grade application problem solving The analysis of the "8th grade application problem solving ability pre-test paper" revealed that students have weak problem representation ability,insufficient experience in understanding real-life scenarios,serious traces of imitation in problem solving,heavy fear of learning,and irregularity in problem solving.In order to find ways to improve students’ problem solving ability,this thesis takes eighth grade students as the research object,combines the typical problems condensed from students’ questionnaires and teachers’ interviews,takes "Fractional Equations" in the first book of eighth grade as the practical content,analyzes the students’ problem solving obstacles,and proposes effective teaching strategies in a targeted manner.From the starting point of independent internalized learning,innovative teaching mode,stimulating learning interest and improving innovation ability,the author proposed four teaching strategies to increase mathematical reading materials,improve classroom content format,integrate visualization teaching methods and encourage students to compose application problems.The chapter on "Fractional Equations"was implemented in two eighth grade classes with the assistance of Mr.W.In two weeks and 17 lesson period.The post-test results and student interviews revealed that students were receptive to the new strategies and were able to develop problem solving experiences to apply in problem solving;teachers shared the pressure of teaching application problems with the help of teaching materials and improved students’ problem solving skills.To sum up,in developing students’ application problem solving skills,teachers can make use of novel lesson preparation materials,adapt them across disciplines and perspectives to develop students’ problem solving skills;adopt teaching methods in class to develop students’ core literacy such as mathematical modeling and mathematical abstraction;and carry out homework design after class to achieve precise lectures and improve students’ mathematical problem solving skills.Students should pay attention to mobilize their existing knowledge and experience in learning application problems to accept new knowledge,and transform the old and new knowledge into one by reflecting and summarizing after class,incorporating their own understanding and forming a correct working memory. |
