Under the background of the new curriculum reform and the educational concept of "Building Morality and cultivating people",the integration of mathematics history into mathematics teaching is not only an important guarantee to achieve the curriculum goal,but also an important part of discipline education.In addition,the mathematics curriculum standard also advocates the appropriate integration of mathematics history into the teaching in combination with the teaching content.However,there is a phenomenon of "high evaluation and low application" in the integration of mathematics history into mathematics teaching,and the relevant teaching practice research is still in the stage of exploration and development.Therefore,it is particularly necessary to provide mathematical historical materials and relevant teaching practical experience suitable for teaching.The number represented by letters is an important turning point in the development of algebra.It contains rich mathematical historical materials in its long historical development.Considering the cognitive development of students,the unit "express numbers with letters" is arranged in the "number and Algebra" part of the senior grade of primary school.Through the study of the content of this unit,students’ cognition will be greatly improved from specific numbers to letter numbers.Relevant research shows that the development of students’ understanding of the number represented by letters is similar to its development history.Integrating the development process of letter representation and relevant historical materials into teaching will help students deeply understand the meaning of letter representation.At the same time,the teaching design of this unit can also provide reference for teachers’ teaching.Based on the relevant theories of integrating the history of mathematics into mathematics teaching,this study adopts the action research method,selects the unit of "express numbers with letters" for teaching design and practice,and analyzes the results of classroom teaching,teacher-student interviews and students’ after-school tests.The purpose is to improve the teaching design according to practice,in order to provide teaching reference for teachers.Finally,according to the research conclusion,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the integration of mathematics history into mathematics teaching.Through research and analysis,the following conclusions are drawn: the mathematical historical materials integrated into the unit of "express numbers with letters" are lack of integration;The teaching form of integrating the history of mathematics into the unit of "express numbers with letters" is single;The value of integrating the history of mathematics into the unit of "express numbers with letters" is easy to be ignored.Finally,according to the research conclusion,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the integration of mathematical history into mathematical teaching:select the mathematical historical materials suitable for integration into teaching;Further integrate and enrich the reading resources based on the history of mathematics;Improve teachers’ quality of integrating mathematics history into mathematics teaching;Realize the integration of mathematical history and information technology resources;Research and develop teaching cases based on the history of mathematics;Develop and compile mathematical exercises based on the history of mathematics.
