the post-epidemic era,online teaching has become an important direction for the development of higher education.We should strengthen research on the current situation,influencing factors and existing problems of online teaching during the epidemic,summarize the experience gained from online teaching,and accelerate and promote the development and quality of online teaching.improvement.The online student engagement of undergraduates refers to the student engagement of undergraduates in the online teaching mode,including four aspects: behavioral engagement,cognitive engagement,emotional engagement and interaction engagement.The research on online student engagement of undergraduates can provide new ideas for colleges and universities to improve the quality of higher education and improve the quality of talent training,and meet the requirements of the information society for talent training in colleges and universities.Therefore,the research on online student engagement of undergraduates has important research value and practical significance.First,the paper explores the concept,theory and research status of undergraduate students’ student engagement in the online teaching mode.On the one hand,it summarizes core concepts such as undergraduates,online teaching,and student engagement,expounds the theory of Community of Inquiry Framework and student engagement,and sorts out research results in online teaching and student engagement at home and abroad,laying a theoretical foundation for follow-up research;On the one hand,it discusses the structural framework and influencing factors of undergraduates’ online student engagement,and provides a basis and reference for the revision of the follow-up questionnaire.Secondly,this paper takes undergraduates from many colleges and universities in Jiangsu,Guangdong and Hunan as the survey objects,and investigates the online student engagement of undergraduates from four aspects: behavioral engagement,cognitive engagement,emotional engagement,and interaction engagement.The results show that: First,the online student engagement of undergraduates has reached the medium level or above,and there are certain differences between different dimensions.Undergraduates perform better in behavioral investment and can complete online teaching tasks on time,but they are slightly insufficient in emotional investment;Second,in addition to the insignificant differences in gender and major,the online student engagement of undergraduates has significant differences in other individual characteristic factors,including grades and types of institutions;third,undergraduates’ own factors,teachers’ factors and the environment All factors have a significant positive impact on the online student engagement of undergraduates.Thirdly,through case interviews,we can directly understand the undergraduates’ views on the online teaching mode and their own student engagement,the attitude of teacher-student interaction,and the evaluation of school and social support,and further explore the impact mechanism of undergraduates’ online student engagement.Based on this,we found some problems: undergraduate students have the problem of insufficient self-control in the process of online teaching;online teaching mode is difficult to carry out effective classroom supervision;teachers’ online teaching attitude and teachers’ information literacy will affect the online learning experience of undergraduates;Family support,assistance provided by schools and society are of great significance to improve the online student engagement of undergraduates.Finally,in view of the current situation and existing problems of undergraduates’ student engagement in the online teaching mode,the paper proposes strategies for improving undergraduates’ online student engagement from three levels: undergraduate level,teacher level,and environmental support level.Among them,undergraduates need to actively improve their self-control in online teaching,improve their information literacy in online learning,and improve their adaptability to the online learning environment;as teachers who play a leading role in the teaching process,they should focus on improving the level of online teaching support and assistance,and strengthening online learning.Curriculum planning and teaching design,reasonable and effective design of online learning resources;environmental support,including colleges and universities should implement comprehensive and accurate policies,families ensure that help support is in place,and the society fully supports online teaching,so as to jointly improve the online student engagement of undergraduates. |
