The rapid development of a new round of industrial and scientific and technological revolution has given China’s economy a new concept and way of development.However,the engineering talents trained in Colleges and universities in China can not effectively meet the development requirements of the new economy,and higher engineering education is facing major challenges.In 2017,the Ministry of education put forward the "new engineering" to comply with the development of the new economy,and released the "trilogy" of the new engineering,namely "Fudan consensus","Tianda action" and "Beijing Guide",which opened the prelude to the construction of new engineering in China.In 2018,Shandong Province issued the opinions on the implementation of talents supporting the transformation of old and new kinetic energy,which requires to give full play to the supporting and leading role of people with skills in the transformation of old and new kinetic energy,create innovation,industry and development advantages with talent advantages,and provide important talent guarantee for accelerating the strategic transformation from large to strong and realizing innovative,sustainable and leading development in Shandong Province.Taking the provincial level as the starting point and the construction of new engineering majors in Shandong provincial engineering colleges as the research topic,this paper analyzes the current situation of new engineering majors in provincial science and engineering colleges,mainly using the methods of literature research,comparative research and case analysis,and appropriately using the method of interview.This paper analyzes the problems and primary causes existing in the construction of new engineering majors in Shandong provincial engineering colleges,summarizes the exploration and practice of new engineering majors in three representative colleges and universities in China,carries on comparatively analyzes to them,draws lessons from their advanced experience,and finally makes an indepth discussion on the construction of new engineering majors in Shandong provincial engineering colleges according to the analysis and puts forward relevant suggestions.It is found that there are the following problems in the construction of new engineering majors in engineering colleges affiliated to Shandong Province: the specialty setting is homogeneous and the number of cross majors is small;Teaching is mainly traditional teaching,and it is difficult to improve practical ability;Innovation and entrepreneurship education lags behind and lacks innovation and entrepreneurship practice;The integration of schools and enterprises is low,and the participation of enterprises is not high.In view of the problems,and based on three theories,this study proposes to lead the direction of new engineering construction from the government level,including strengthening overall planning and fulfilling the due responsibilities of the government;Improve public opinion and optimize the social and cultural environment;Promote the integration of industry and education,and improve the school enterprise collaborative education policy.From the perspective of colleges and universities,it is proposed to innovate the training mode of engineering talents,including strengthening the information construction and building a public information platform;Strengthen the construction of double qualified teachers and improve teachers’ engineering practice ability;Strengthen interdisciplinary construction and build a scientific teaching guarantee mechanism;Improve the innovation and entrepreneurship education model and improve the engineering talent training system.From the social level,it is proposed to improve the collaborative training mechanism of engineering talents,including improving the joint organization of schools and enterprises and optimizing the operation mechanism of training management;Strengthen social evaluation and strengthen the internal construction of social evaluation,and provide reference for the construction of new engineering majors in engineering colleges affiliated to Shandong Province.
