Internet celebrities are a special network group born in the Internet era.Since its birth,Internet celebrities have experienced several periods of being praised and reviled and being widely spread.Until the new media era,Internet celebrities have become household names.Internet celebrities have a large number of fans,and their actions and words and deeds have a strong influence in society.Especially after 2016,Internet celebrities have spawned a new economic model--Internet celebrity economy,which indicates that Internet celebrities have become an indispensable part of social communication.In the face of powerful online groups,People’s Daily plays its role as a mainstream media that restrains speech and standardizes guidance,resolutely rejects Internet celebrities who violate laws and regulations and destroy public order,and actively promotes positive energy Internet celebrities who are sunny and hardworking.Therefore,in view of this phenomenon,this paper explores the image,characteristics,development and influence of Internet celebrities in the new era from the aspects of media image,network communication,mass culture and media culture.This paper consists of five parts.The introduction part is an overview of the source,background,research methods and research status at home and abroad.The content of the first chapter is the definition of the concept of Internet celebrities,and the summary of the historical development period of Internet celebrities,and explore the reasons for the rise of Internet celebrities.The second chapter is to classify the different image types of Internet celebrities in People’s Daily and explore the policy significance of "Internet celebrities" image in People’s Daily.The third chapter analyzes the communication system of Internet celebrities in People’s Daily under the new media matrix.The fourth chapter discusses the reasons why People’s Daily promotes the image of Internet celebrities.
