Nanjing Marathon,as a brand event built after Nanjing Youth Olympic Games,has had a certain impact on all aspects of Nanjing,among which the impact on Nanjing tourism should be paid attention to.It is of great significance to grasp the influence of Nanjing Marathon on Nanjing’s tourism industry and put forward suggestions to further develop the tourism effect of Nanjing Marathon.This paper uses four methods: literature,expert interview,questionnaire and data statistics to consult the relevant literature,obtain the relevant information and data,conduct a questionnaire survey,and sort out and analyze the obtained data.Through the specific research on the impact of Nanjing marathon on Nanjing tourism,this study draws the following five conclusions:Firstly,Nanjing Marathon has an impact on Nanjing’s tourism resources,urban tourist flow,urban tourism economy and urban tourism image.Secondly,The impact on Nanjing’s tourism resources,Nanjing Marathon,as an entertaining and participatory sports event,has enriched the quantity and types of Nanjing’s tourism resources,but compared with the domestic marathon events in old cities,its attraction needs to be further improved.Thirdly,The impact on the tourist flow of Nanjing,Nanjing Marathon can attract a large number of runners and their companions to gather in Nanjing for race tourism activities every year,and a large part of them come from other places,which brings fresh blood to the development of Nanjing tourism.Fourthly,The impact on Nanjing’s tourism economy,the Nanjing Marathon has stimulated the consumption of competitors and boosted Nanjing’s tourism economy.Further analysis shows that the per capita tourism consumption of foreign competitors has not shown an increasing trend in recent three years,and the consumption structure needs to be optimized.During 2016-2019,the per capita stay time of foreign competitors did not show an increasing trend.Fifthly,The impact on Nanjing’s tourism image,through the design of racetrack,medals,cultural and creative products,emblem,slogan,propaganda film and the dissemination of event media,a city tourism image with a blend of ancient and modern times,mountains,rivers,forests and urban atmosphere,vitality and profound sports culture has been created to the outside world.However,the negative events in the process of holding the Nanjing Marathon had a negative impact on the shaping of Nanjing’s tourism image.Respondents’ perception of Nanjing’s tourism image is generally positive,and most of the foreign competitors’ goodwill towards Nanjing has improved after the competition,and they are willing to share Nanjing with relatives and friends who have tourism intentions,and express their willingness to travel to Nanjing again.It has prolonged the life cycle of Nanjing as a tourist destination and promoted the development of Nanjing’s tourism in the long run.According to the above conclusions,this paper puts forward the following suggestions,with a view to the common development of Nanjing Marathon and Nanjing tourism: Improve the quality of running the Nanjing Marathon,so as to promote tourism.Innovate the content of the event and enhance the entertainment attribute of the event.Innovate network virtual tourism and break through the time and space limitation of Nanjing Marathon tourism.Promote the integration of sports and tourism,and develop the tourism products of Nanjing Marathon.Combining with the urban characteristics of Nanjing,broaden the tourism publicity channels of Nanjing Marathon. |
