Middle school is a critical period in the students’ academic career,and the academic achievement and psychological health of middle school students are the most important concerns of parents and schools.The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of psychological capital on academic achievement from the perspective of positive psychology,and to validate the group intervention activities based on the psychological capital dare theory,based on which we can provide corresponding educational suggestions for schools,parents and students.This paper uses a combination of experimental research,questionnaires,and data analysis.The experimental study was divided into two sub-studies,of which Study 1focused on the relationship between psychological capital and academic achievement of junior high school students,and the study population was all students in a junior high school in Fuzhou.The experimental results showed that the relationship between academic achievement and self-efficacy,resilience,hope,optimism,and psychological capital showed significant(p<0.05)positive correlations,with correlation coefficients of 0.769,0.482,0.722,0.655,and 0.835,respectively.Students in the experimental group underwent the group intervention while the control group did not undergo any intervention.It was found that students in the experimental group had significantly higher overall scores on both the Psychological Capital Questionnaire and the Academic Achievement Questionnaire after the group intervention activities.Therefore,the psychological capital level and academic achievement level of junior high school students can be improved by group intervention activities based on psychological capital intervention theory,and the effect is obvious.In the new era,the direction of China’s education reform is to cultivate the all-round development of students.Paying attention to students’ psychological health growth is important to enhance students’ academic achievement,and from the perspective of families and schools,it is conducive to building a harmonious family relationship and home-school relationship,so the joint efforts of schools,families and students are needed.
