| In recent years,Profession Development of teachers in universities and colleges is considered an important mechanism for them to improve their knowledge and skills and develop their teaching practice for high standard teaching.Therefore,many practitioners and researchers actively practice and explore for Profession Development of teachers in universities and colleges.As a means of Profession Development of teachers in universities and colleges,workplace learning can effectively help them to achieve sustainable development in practice.In recent years,Sociomaterial theory focuses on professional learning,specialization and professional development from a holographic and organic perspective as an emerging theory of workplace learning,and regards learning as a whole,including the generation and reinforcement of knowledge,the subjectivity of learners,the importance and mobility of artifacts,etc.Therefore,this paper focuses on answering the research question of "how can teachers in universities and colleges use sociomaterial to boost professional development" by the method of narrative inquirybased on the material theory of Sociomaterial.Sociomaterial mainly include artifacts,technology,and social relations.Based on the story and analysis on professional development of five teachers in universities and colleges,this paper presented the development prospect of effective use of sociomaterial by the teachers in universities and colleges in the period of career preparation,adaptive growth,plateau breakthrough and mature and stable period in career preparation period,and analyzed that sociomaterial promotes the value of professional knowledge and skills,professional feelings and attitudes,professional ethics and beliefs in different stages.Due to the differences in personality characteristics,teachers in universities and colleges make the focus of sociomaterial application different,and the functions of sociomaterial in professional development are also different.All sociomaterials change with the progress of professional development.However,the obstacles of choice,supply and demand,and use environment affect the professional development of teachers in colleges and universities.In order to better help university and college teachers realize professional development and realize the combination of "human-sociomaterial",teachers in colleges and universities effectively use entity,language and conceptual artifacts,rationally use science and technology,promote self-reflection and promotion;actively carry out social interaction and expand professional development resources.Colleges and universities should strengthen the relevant training to help the teachers to use the artifacts reasonably;equip the science and technology platform,create the use environment;build the practice community,promote the social relationship interaction,and help the teachers to play the effect of sociomaterial. |
