| As one of the basic language skills in English learning,reading has always been the core content of English teaching.Because reading occupies a very important position in the college entrance examination,teachers attach great importance to reading teaching,and students also invest a lot of energy and time in reading.However,the survey finds that for students with English learning difficulties,their reading situation is not optimistic.They have many obstacles in reading,which lead to low reading scores and affect their overall English scores.For this reason,it is necessary for us to do further research on reading obstacles of senior high school students with English learning difficulties,and propose some suggestions to reduce their reading obstacles and improve their English reading ability.Based on schema theory and constructivism learning theory,the author takes Mudanjiang W Senior High School as an example,and conducts an investigation and research on reading obstacles of the students with English learning difficulties in this school by means of questionnaires and interviews.This research revolves around the following two questions:(1)What reading obstacles exist in senior high school students with English learning difficulties?(2)What are the causes of reading obstacles of senior high school students with English learning difficulties? The author firstly conducts a questionnaire survey on 300 students with English learning difficulties in three grades,and uses SPSS 26.0 to conduct statistical analysis on the collected data,and then conducts interviews with 9 English teachers and 12 students with English learning difficulties.The results of the research are as follows:(1)Reading obstacles of senior high school students with English learning difficulties are mainly divided into two parts,language obstacles and non-language obstacles.Among them,there are four kinds of language obstacles,including vocabulary obstacles,syntax obstacles,discourse obstacles and genres obstacles;Four kinds of non-language obstacles,including cultural background obstacles,reading strategies obstacles,reading motivation obstacles,and reading habits obstacles.(2)The teaching of teachers and the learning of students will cause reading obstacles.From the perspective of students with English learning difficulties,the main causes are their lack of basic knowledge,lack of sufficient reading,lack of appropriate reading strategies,lack of good reading habits;From the perspective of teachers,the main causes are their failure to grasp advanced teaching concepts and models,failure to give students systematic guidance and reading training,failure to pay attention to the teaching of non-language knowledge,failure to give enough attention to students with English learning difficulties.Finally,based on the above research results,the author puts forward some suggestions for language obstacles and non-language obstacles existing in senior high school students with English learning difficulties.It is hoped that through this research,students with English learning difficulties can attach more importance to reading,reduce their reading obstacles and improve their reading ability.At the same time,it is also hoped that it can provide some reference for the teaching of English reading in senior high school. |
