With the continuous development of mobile internet technology and the popularization of smart phones,the "short,flat and fast" characteristics of short videos meet people’s needs for obtaining fragmented information.The modern Olympic Games is considered to be a complex composed of media,sports and culture.The rise of short video provides a new opportunity for the transformation and development of mainstream media Olympic reporting.In the Tokyo Olympics,short video reporting has become the mainstream media for Olympic dissemination.important strategy.This study adopts data analysis,case analysis and comparative analysis,selects Xinhua News Agency and CCTV News as representatives of the mainstream media of print type and TV type respectively,and discusses different types of mainstream media from three aspects:video source,content form and technology application.The media and their differences in the production practice of Olympic short videos on different social platforms and the laws behind them,discuss the current problems in the dissemination of Olympic short videos,and provide suggestions for improvement in future dissemination strategies.The study found that on the microblog platform,the role of mainstream media determines the production mode of Olympic short videos.On the Douyin platform,mainstream media focus on positive guidance on topics and values under the trend of pan-entertainment,and interspersed with storytelling in short Olympic videos.At the same time,the Olympic short videos produced by the mainstream media on Weibo and Douyin showed marked differences.The circle-level relationship on the Weibo platform helps to promote the secondary dissemination of the mainstream media Olympic short videos.The mainstream media displays the Olympic events from multiple perspectives with short video narratives in the form of horizontal screens.The Douyin platform,on the other hand,is more suitable for presenting short-length and emotionally-emphasized vertical-screen videos by means of editing and music,highlighting the main body of the video,and creating an “on-the-spot experience” by building an immersive experience scene,bringing users and video characters closer.virtual space distance.In addition,in the content production of Olympic short videos,mainstream media focus on the selection of championship-winning projects and breakthrough areas in order to build national identity and arouse emotional resonance,conveying a positive Olympic spirit.Although the mainstream media’s short video strategy has achieved initial results,there are problems such as lack of innovation in the narrative method of the Olympic short video,fragmented video presentation,which affects the user’s viewing experience and the homogeneity of the Olympic short video content.The mainstream media needs to change the past style of Olympic reporting,focusing on the specific portrait of the athlete.Mining users’ deeper information needs for Olympic events,and producing Olympic "short programs".Explore the interconnection between short video content and platforms,realize differentiated operation methods,utilize the user traffic of social platforms,disseminate Olympic information and guide mainstream values in a pan-entertainment network environment.
