At present,with the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and the implementation of the "One belt,one road" policy,China gets more and more closely along with other countries.As the frequent personnel exchanges and flow,the international schools have sprung up to appear with personalized education,which provide the students with more choice.However,at present,the time of domestic international schools’ development is not long,and there are some gaps between schools in curriculum setting and other aspects.In addition,different schools have different attitudes towards Chinese courses in terms of the setting of Chinese courses.Currently,there are still some problems that restrict the development of Chinese courses in international schools and international schools themselves.The author who takes advantage of his own professional knowledge,and his living location which is in Nanjing,through some visits and surveys about Chinese curriculum situation in some related primary schools,finds that there are some problems about Chinese curriculum settings of international schools in Nanjing,which exist and are still needed to be solved or improved,such as the insufficient attention to Chinese language courses,the lack of teachers,curriculum arrangements,and unreasonable appraisal ways,etc.By analyzing the causes of these problems,the author puts forward his own ideas and suggestions which is in the hope of promoting Chinese teaching in Nanjing international schools.This paper is divided into six parts: Chapter 1 Introduction is mainly composed of the research purpose,the significance,literature reviews and research methods;The second chapter gives an overview of the development of mixed international schools in Nanjing,including the concept and classification of international schools,the characteristics and research significance of mixed international schools,and the situations of Chinese curriculum settings in some related schools.The third chapter elaborates the investigation design ideas,the investigation objects and the processes,and carries on the data analysis;The fourth chapter analyzes and summarizes the commonness and individuality of mixed international schools on the basis of the data.The fifth chapter puts forward author’s own thoughts and suggestions about the problems;The last part contains the conclusion,innovation,difficulties and shortcomings of this paper.By the forms of setting the questionnaires and having the interviews with teachers and students,this paper conducts a survey on the Chinese language course setting and implementation of three schools,which finds out that the advantages of mixed international school are perfect infrastructures,advanced campus constructions,the fully inclusive of different cultures and plentiful Chinese relevant teaching activities,etc.;And the existing problems mainly include insufficient attentions to the Chinese curriculum,and curriculum arrangement that still needs to be improved.The innovation of this paper is a comprehensive investigation and reflections on the setting and implementation of Chinese curriculum,textbooks,classes and courses in mixed international schools,which to a certain extent also enriches the results of Chinese curriculum researches in primary schools.The shortcoming is that due to the influence of the epidemic,the number of schools and students under investigation is limited,which fails to fully reflect the overall situation of Chinese courses in domestic mixed international schools.We hope to have chance to continue research on this in the future. |
