Talent is an essential resource for social development and the embodiment of the country’s core competitiveness.Biological Sciences are the basis of Agricultural Sciences,Pharmaceutical Sciences,Environmental Sciences and other related sciences and technologies.Therefore,it is crucial to cultivate biological talents with excellent comprehensive ability.The National Biology League is an important way to discover,select and develop cutting-edge talents in biology.The National Biology League Theory Exam consists of four modules.Genetics is one of the subjects that account for a relatively large proportion of the league test questions.The design of the league genetics test questions reflects the requirements of the propositioners for the relevant knowledge,abilities,and methods of students.Therefore,the study of league test questions is conducive to promoting the renewal of teacher education teaching concepts and the improvement of teaching skills and is conducive to correctly playing the role of competition in cultivating talents and guiding the teaching of biology in secondary schools.This study analyzed the Genetics test questions in the 2003-2021 National Biology League through literature research method,test paper analysis method,case design method and other methods.By examining statistical knowledge points,the propositional characteristics of genetics test questions are summarized.Through the analysis of the hidden biological core literacy in genetics test questions,it is found that genetics test questions focus on examining scientific thinking literacy and scientific inquiry literacy.Through the analysis of the characteristics of the genetic propositions and examination requirements of the league,it is found that the National Biology League helps improve students’ effective observation ability,experimental analysis ability,scientific thinking ability,independent learning ability,cooperative learning ability,psychological endurance ability,and helps teachers form teaching methods suitable for students’ learning and teaching strategies that perform students’ ability.Through the above research,it is concluded that teachers should be able to teach according to their aptitudes and teach in layers,so that the ability of each student has been improved;according to the teaching content,a variety of teaching methods are selected to promote the improvement of students’ biological ability;an innovative teaching concept should be established to continuously improve their comprehensive quality;and effective teaching evaluation should be implemented to pay attention to the cultivation of students’ abilities.The propositional form of the National Biology League,the characteristics of the examination and the ability requirements of students also reflect the trend of teaching biology courses in secondary schools.Through the study of league questions,it helps teachers enrich their professional knowledge,improve teaching skills,stimulate and cultivate students’ interest in learning,facilitate students’ core biology literacy,promote secondary school biology teaching,and play an active role in the league by developping and selecting top biological talents for the country.
