With the promotion of a new generation of information-based education,the importance of AI education has become increasingly prominent.In recent years,China has issued a number of documents that explicitly require the introduction of AI-related courses and programming education at primary and secondary school levels.In addition,the Horizon Report of the US New Media Consortium has repeatedly listed"game-based teaching" as a new technology that will be widely used in education in the future,providing a new path for innovation in teaching methods.This study introduces game-based teaching into the primary school programming classroom,using the game-based teaching platform Scratch as the basis,following the principles of game-based teaching,incorporating game-based elements into the teaching design,building a framework for game-based teaching design,and allowing students to create games based on themes.Firstly,by reviewing the literature and research related to gamification teaching at home and abroad,the current situation of gamification teaching is analysed and the theoretical basis of this study is determined;secondly,the current teaching situation of S primary school Scratch programming classroom is investigated in the field,the feasibility of gamification teaching in primary school Scratch programming classroom is analysed,the framework of gamification teaching design is summarised,and on the basis of the framework,the design and implementation of gamification teaching based Finally,the teaching effectiveness of the application of gamification teaching in primary school Scratch programming class is tested through questionnaires,classroom observations and final tests.The following conclusions can be drawn from the study on the application of game-based teaching design of primary school Scratch programming in the Year 5 interest class of Primary School S.(1)Gamification teaching can effectively increase students’ motivation and spontaneous learning behaviour in programming classes.(2)Gamification teaching develops students’ learning skills,improves their classroom reflective skills and effectively enhances their interactive participation in class.(3)Gamification teaching is conducive to improving students’ learning outcomes,promoting their understanding of knowledge and enhancing their sense of achievement in learning.Therefore,Scratch programming in primary schools based on gamification teaching is conducive to promoting the development of the new curriculum and providing new ideas and methods for programming teaching.
