| The "Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of Teacher Team Construction in the New Era" pointed out that it is necessary to cultivate high-quality compound teachers with solid subject knowledge.Subject knowledge plays a fundamental role in teachers’ professional development and teaching process.Teachers’ subject knowledge comes from different sources,researching the sources of geography teachers’ subject knowledge is helpful to clarify the process of teachers’ subject knowledge acquisition and development,and promote the development of geography teachers’ subject knowledge.However,at present,the level of geography teachers’ subject knowledge in China is not ideal.In order to help geography teachers better develop subject knowledge,it is necessary to study the sources of geography teachers’ subject knowledge.On the basis of clarifying the main types of the sources of geography teachers’ subject knowledge,this paper adopts the questionnaire method to explore the current situation of the sources of geography teachers’ subject knowledge,and adopts the interview method to analyze the function process.Through these,the problems in the sources of geography teachers’ subject knowledge are found,and puts forward some suggestions to promote the development of geography teachers’ subject knowledge.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:Firstly,there are 15 types of the sources of geography teachers’ subject knowledge,For pre-service geography teachers,there are professional courses of geography,geography teaching theory course,teaching skills training,educational internship and internship and self-study geography books or periodicals;For in-service geography teachers,there are teacher own teaching experience and reflection,observing colleagues teaching,reading geography books or periodicals,in-service courses for promoting diploma,in-service academic promotion education,in-service professional training,guidance of geography educational researchers,daily communication with colleagues,communication of virtual learning community and browsing the Internet.Secondly,the important sources of subject knowledge for geography teachers include teacher own teaching experience and reflection,observing colleagues teaching,daily communication with colleagues,guidance of geography educational researchers,browsing the Internet,reading geography books or periodicals,educational internship and internship and professional courses of geography.In general,the sources of subject knowledge in the in-service stage plays a more significant role in the acquisition and development of the subject knowledge of geography teachers.There are significant differences in the sources of subject knowledge of geography teachers in three aspects: majors studied at the junior college or undergraduate level,the highest educational background and the development stage.Thirdly,the specific function process of the sources of geography teachers’ subject knowledge are different,but most of their purpose is to solve the difficulties of geography teachers’ subject knowledge.Geography teachers usually combine the characteristics of the problem,their own needs and the available resources to choose the appropriate source of geography teachers’ subject knowledge and strengthen learning.The result of the function of the sources of geography teachers’ subject knowledge are to help geography teachers increase the reserve of geography subject knowledge,improve their understanding of geography subject knowledge,build a complete geographic knowledge system and finally apply geography subject knowledge to teaching.Based on the above research results,and from the perspective that the function of geography teachers’ subject knowledge source can be fully exerted,some suggestions are put forward to promote the development of geography teachers’ subject knowledge: Pre-service geography teachers need to seize various opportunities to enrich geography knowledge,using the resources inside and outside the school to learn the professional courses of geography well,cherishing the opportunity of geography teaching skills training and observation,extensive reading of classic literature on geography theory at home and abroad;Geography teachers need to strengthen their supplementary learning and thorough understanding of the subject knowledge of geography,enhance the understanding of subject knowledge by Internet or books,actively ask excellent peers for knowledge of geography,strengthen the accumulation and reflection of the teaching experience of subject knowledge;College teachers should pay attention to the evaluation and guidance of pre-service geography teachers’ subject knowledge;The training organizer needs to understand the needs of geography teachers’ subject knowledge and conduct training on demand. |
